Roofer out of Phoenix told me I was 1 of 4 marketing hires in November: 45 days later… 1 got the boot after 30 days of nothing 2 others have generated a total of 9 opportunities (so my client says they’re about to get the boot) And then there’s me… Hire #4 I’m proud to say I’m holding up my end of the bargain. Over the last 45 days, I’ve generated them 60+ roofing opportunities for my client. This industry feels like the Wild West sometimes.. I hear this all the time. “I’ve tried 5+ different marketers before you…” You’re telling me you can’t find someone you can trust? It’s crazy out here. When the majority of people can’t be trusted…. just wow. I hate hearing it. Reason #1 I believe marketers should deliver on their promises or not make them at all (i.e., just simply have integrity) Reason #2 I want the good guys to win. Both the trustworthy roofer who does good work and the trustworthy marketer who does good work. Keep fighting. In the end, the good guys win. Don’t lose hope. There is always a diamond in the rough.

Hiring is key when growing a home renovation business. As the owner you need to focus your time where it matters most, overseeing quality and improving operational efficiency. Here is the most common hiring roadmap I’ve seen work (in order): 1️⃣ A tradesman – The first hire to help you handle more work. 2️⃣ An estimator – Someone to manage more leads and projects coming from referrals. (Tip: Teach them to sell too!) 3️⃣ A marketing professional – To drive new business and increase sales. 4️⃣ An office manager – To handle calls, qualify leads, and disqualify tire kickers so you can focus on real opportunities.

“Full service real estate” and “teams” in real estate are meaningless terms. They are used by as marketing tools to instill confidence consumers or recruit an agents. Once you see it you can’t unsee it. Instead, if you are a buyer or sell it or investor: Ask for a breakdown of what that actually means. If you’re contracting a broker, are they the ones providing strategic advice, or are they sending you to someone else and just taking a cut? Do they even know that person or do they just call an office with the same logo as them and get passed some Junior agent? If you are hiring a team, find out what that actually means. Do they just share office space and ADMIN? Or do they leverage their knowledge network and actually collaborate on your file? The biggest problem is real estate is the lack of a standard of service, while the consumers tend to think they are comparing apples against apples. The question I would like answered most : If you are a consumer would be what matters to you most when it comes to who you hire?
