Master of Science (MSc) in Social Sciences in International Relations | Global Gender Studies | Global Governance | International Political Economy | Political Change | Mobility and Sustainability |
🌟 Exciting Update: Narrowing Down My Master's Thesis Topic! 🌟 Greetings LinkedIn community, As I find myself in the final semester of my MSc in International Relations with a Major in Global Gender Studies at Aalborg Universitet, I am thrilled to share my journey towards completing my Master's thesis. In the inception of this academic endeavor, I started with a broad yet pertinent research question: "What is the problem representation in the Danish Immigration and Integration Policies?" However, upon delving deeper into the subject matter and considering practical constraints such as time and available resources, I have made the strategic decision to refine and narrow down my focus to "The problem representation in the Danish Integration Policies." This decision was not taken lightly, but rather stemmed from a desire to ensure that my thesis remains both manageable and impactful within the given parameters. By focusing on the complexities of integration policies in Denmark, I aim to delve into the nuanced ways in which societal challenges and narratives shape policy formulation and implementation processes. My passion for this topic has only grown stronger, fueled in part by my recent five-month internship experience at Semga Solutions in Denmark. During my time at Semga Solutions, an organization specializing in Immigration, Integration, and Business Consulting, I had the invaluable opportunity to gain firsthand insights into the complexities of immigration and integration issues facing Denmark today. This experience has not only deepened my understanding but has also reinforced my commitment to contributing meaningfully to this critical field of study. I am excited to embark on this phase of my academic journey and to document my progress through regular blog updates. Each step brings me closer to unraveling the complexities of Danish integration policies and their implications for individuals and communities alike. I look forward to sharing my insights, challenges, and wins along the way, and I am eager to reflect on this journey in the years to come, knowing that my contributions have helped advance our understanding of this vital area of study. Thank you for joining me on this adventure! 😀

I graduated from Ateneo de Manila University a few days ago. Here are 10 important things I've learned in college. 1. Friendships Evolve The friends you make in your first year may not be the same ones you have by the end, and that’s okay. It’s important to find people who truly fit you as you grow. 2. Grades Aren’t Everything Getting too fixated on earning the highest honors often leads to sacrificing other aspects, or becoming too competitive. 3. Genuineness Over Likeability Embrace your individuality. It’s better to be known for who you truly are than to blend in and go unnoticed. 4. Always listen No matter how skilled you are, there’s always someone who knows more. Listen and learn from them. 5. Your Background Doesn’t Define You Don’t let anyone diminish your worth. Where you come from doesn’t matter; you have the same potential as anyone else. 6. Experience Trumps Theory Apply what you learn in class to real-world situations. Internships and practical experiences turn lessons into skills. 7. Balance is Key Focusing solely on academics or any single aspect of college life can lead to regrets. Explore and try different things. 8. Forge Your Own Path The common path is often the most competitive. Don’t be afraid to find your own unique way. 9. Kindness Matters You might not be remembered as everyone’s friend, but at least you won’t be remembered as someone rude. Kindness leaves a lasting impression. 10. You’ll Find Your Place No matter how unique or out of place you feel, there will always be people who accept and resonate with you. Congratulations to all fellow graduates, and good luck to the next ones! 🎓 #Graduation #Ateneo #ADMU

The perfect grade is possible in Italy🇮🇹. Since moving to #Italy for my master's in Applied Experimental Psychological Sciences, I never thought that getting the perfect grade was possible, but I watched my classmates get it. I thought it was the most difficult thing to achieve, and I will most likely not reach it. However, this semester, I reached the perfect grade twice, and I am completely proud of myself. I am grateful for my dear friend Egbuejeh Rose, who helped me integrate and adjust well to the new educational system when I first arrived and struggled with my academic work. I am also lucky to have Daniele Aitis and Sara Contini as my dear friends and colleagues who are always available to help me and share their experiences, lending an ear to each other's stories. Also, I believe learning a new language greatly improved my cognitive abilities and memory. This could be why I feel like a better problem solver by the day. I rewarded myself with a trip to #LakeComo, the third-largest and deepest lake in Italy. So dear friend, what you think is impossible is very much possible, even more so if others have done it before. Surround yourself with the right people, put in the work, and the impossible becomes eminently achievable. Have a fantastic weekend Dear Achiever! #AEPS #internship #MSCstudent #Europe #qualityeducation #studyingitaly #therightnetwork #consumerpsychology #cognitivepsychology #friends #marketresearch #studyabroad

#𝟏 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐮𝐧𝐢 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭! I noticed Australian universities are more of a commuter campus. That means people come to have their classes, usually in 1 or 2 days, and after the classes are done, they basically disappear and you will not see them until next week. What does this sound to you? Like a part-time job right? A part-time job. I think this is most of my friends’ perception of university. They will be there to do the job but don’t wish to be heavily involved. They also have their groups of friends from high school so they don’t really need to make new friends. On top of that, they need to balance their part-time jobs and other life commitments outside of school. 🌟 I also noticed they are not as “hustle and bustle” as people usually think. Obviously, high achievers are everywhere but the general culture does not force them to have an internship or a project or a start-up every summer. And they don’t focus too much on GPA too! As long as you PASS, you’re all good! 🌟 So if you expect Australian students to have the same vibe as American university students: instantly become friends after a class, grab lunch together, do research together, or join a society - you better be prepared for a WILD ride of realisation. If you want to blend in with your uni friends and culture, this will be a long fight! You need to constantly work with them over a long period of time - either through a society or a group work project. On top of that, you need to share common interests and both parties have to put EFFORT in maintaining the friendship. 🌟 Wanna join a society? I would recommend a sweet combination of a society about your hobby (Book, Taylor Swift, Theatre, etc.) and a career-focus society (Business Society, Consulting Club, Marketing Association, etc.) 🌟 I do wish my uni told me this before instead of sending me 100 emails about their rankings! #uni #insights

What does success mean? When I talk with students initially, their definition of success is to obtain their degree, get that cool internship, become the consultant or get high grades. But life happens during your studies and the sorts of success we celebrate in our 1-1 conversations are often of a different caliber. They are the kind you didn’t think of, or don’t necessarily share with friends. Here is a glimpse of the ones we encountered: “ I have been able to gain weight” “ I finally told my parents about my study delay” “ I’m off the waiting list and now see a psychologist” “ I told my roommate I want to move out” “ I decided to quit this study programme” “ My sister has been released from the clinic” “ I finally took that exam I was so afraid of” “ I came out to my parents” Even though these might not be the school examples of success, they are very much worth celebrating - maybe even more than a new job or a degree. Students deal with many different things on their plate, which can interfere with their studies. I always feel glad they feel safe enough to open up to us during meetings. These are not the easiest successes to share, and sometimes it’s easier to tell a ‘stranger’. We make sure to tell them we don’t judge, we don’t think it’s weird what they’re telling and believe us: You’re not the only one. What does success mean to you? #success #studentsuccess #studentsupport #wellbeing #studentenwelzijn Erasmus School of Economics Erasmus University Rotterdam

👩🏽🏫Empowering students with employability skills training to enhance their prospects in securing job opportunities📝
𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚! Completing a placement year as part of my course was a rewarding choice, it was hard to secure a placement but definitely worth it! Step Recruitment helps match companies with students searching for placements. 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒆’𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒚 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍: 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔: - A placement year provides students with first hand experience of the professional environment, helping them understand what they enjoy and what they don’t in a work setting. - Completing a placement year significantly boosts a student’s CV, making them more attractive to graduate employers. - The process of applying for placements gives students valuable practice in job applications and interviews, which can be advantageous when seeking full-time employment post-graduation. - A placement year allows students to ‘test-drive’ a career path or industry, helping them make informed decisions about their future careers based on real-world experience. 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒆𝒔: - Access to a pool of potential future employees who are already familiar with the companies' operations and culture, reducing training time and costs if they hire these students post-graduation. - Placement students often bring new ideas and perspectives that can contribute to innovation within the company. - Hiring placement students can be cost-effective as they are typically paid less than full-time employees but still contribute significantly to projects and daily operations. - Companies get an extended period to evaluate the student’s performance, work ethic, and fit within the team before making any long-term hiring decisions. #StepRecruitment #PlacementYear #CareerBoost #StepRecruitment #ProfessionalGrowth #realworldskills
