I'm excited to share some of the most important concepts I've learned about "Different Types of Memory" and their relevance to UX design. By understanding how memory functions, we can design interfaces that are more intuitive and user-friendly. Here's a sneak peek into the key points covered: 🧠 Long-term Memory: Includes semantic (general knowledge), episodic (personal events), and procedural (action sequences). Tailor designs to match user expectations and experiences. 🔍 Semantic Memory: Use familiar symbols, like a shopping cart icon, to meet user expectations. 📸 Episodic Memory: Incorporate personalized elements to enhance user connection. 🔄 Procedural Memory: Design interfaces that align with common user routines. ⚠️ Memory Fragility: Aid memory recall and reduce cognitive load with clear, easy-to-follow steps. 🔍 Short-term Memory: Keep interfaces straightforward to minimize the need for users to recall information. Swipe through the carousel to dive deeper into each concept and see how understanding memory can revolutionize your approach to UX design. 🌟 Let's connect and discuss how we can apply these principles to create exceptional user experiences. #UIDesign #UXDesign #Memory #UserExperience #UIUX

How to bomb your next UX portfolio presentation: 1. Pull up your website and scroll through case studies 2. Wait until the end to show your most relevant work 3. Don’t get credible feedback on your presentation 4. Don’t learn or use best practices for slide design 5. Don’t tailor your presentation to the specific role 6. Make the design work too small to see 7. Have too much text on your slides 8. Don’t rehearse your presentation 9. Spend a lot of time on each slide 10. Read the text on your slides 11. Focus too much on process 12. Give too much context What did I miss?

I totally agree with the original post. Fall in love with the craft, not the tools! If you’re just starting out in design (whether UX, Graphics or Service), it’s crucial to understand that one of the most powerful tools is learning to ask the right questions; especially “Why?” Recommended read: How Design Makes The World by Scott Berkun.

🚀 Dialog Box Design: The Importance of Alignment, Whitespace, and Hierarchy 🛠️ Effective dialog boxes rely heavily on three key UX principles: Alignment: 1. Properly aligned elements guide users' eyes naturally and improve usability. 2. Ensures buttons and text are easy to locate and interact with. Whitespace: 1. Adequate spacing around elements enhances readability. 2.Reduces cognitive load, making the interface feel clean and approachable. Visual Hierarchy: 1. Clear headings and appropriately emphasized text prioritize information. 2.Helps users quickly scan and understand the message, improving the overall user experience. By focusing on these principles, we create dialog boxes that are not only visually appealing but also highly functional and user-friendly. Small design improvements can make a significant difference! Feel free to provide your valuable feedback!

🤓 Why it's important for UX designers to think outside the box to create a quality product? 👇 Here is an interesting story that I read in the book "The basics of UX design". A real-life example illustrates this: when a truck got stuck under a low bridge, experts proposed complex solutions. However, a passing boy suggested a simple idea—letting the air out of the tires. This uncomplicated approach successfully freed the truck. 👀 Thinking creatively can offer innovative solutions to challenges, but breaking free from established thought patterns is a considerable challenge. The story symbolizes the difficulty in finding obvious solutions due to self-imposed constraints. Challenging established knowledge is hard, even for experts, but sometimes, unconventional thinking can provide the most effective solutions. 💥 #uxdesign #outoftheboxthinking

Fulfillment Map. The attached is created when a UX designer tries to find out what activities make them feel fulfilled. Made a very long list of activities that make me happy and activities I’d like to do in the future. All of the activities that I enjoyed were related to creativity in some way. The purple activities are things I want to do in the future and the activities in black are things that I want to continue to do. This was a really interesting exercise in self discovery and plan to add & subtract to this over time.
