I was lucky to hear from the co-founder and the powerhouse brand all-star behind P.E Nation 💥Pip Edwards 💥speak at the APAC Marketers' Meetup last Thursday, presented by Constant Contact and Vision6 by Constant Contact. So many takeaways regarding 'Crafting a brand identity'. Here are some: Your people are your brand * They need to tick all your brand pillars * Find people with the right energy and culture to deliver - this is make or break for your brand * Lean on their breadth of experience and passion * Your business needs to set them up to represent your brand and deliver your vision * Leading with the heart; having empathy, respect, communication and heart creates passion and vision and excites your people; it’ll help you retain the right people - the wrong people will fall off - and you can attract the right people ongoing * ‘Passion for me is heartbeat’ - you can't put that in a box, women bring that to leadership, and that keeps your brand ‘alive, curious and breathing’ What about when budgets are small? * Small budgets are the best because you always think creatively and smart * Lean on the breadth of experience and passion from your people, who are your brand * ‘Small budgets sift out the bullshit and you just get it done!’ * It’s the hustle, it’s exciting and that’s where the magic comes from Thanks Pip for leading with heart. 💖 I can't wait for the next event! #Marketing #Branding #APAC

I run & create bespoke FUN brand strategy workshops for startups & SMEs to help them build profitable, STANDOUT & positive impact brands | Founder of 9 Designs - Branding Agency | Techstars Alumni | ex VP Strategy @ SPCE
Here's what can unravel a brand: Take Manchester United, for instance… I've been a die-hard fan since I was a kid. Saw the tail end of Sir Alex's glory. But it's been rough since then. 😭 This is what I see: ✅ There might be somewhat of a plan for each game or ‘style of play’. ❌ But it seems there's no plan for the brand. The brand isn't just about the club. It's about everyone involved. From owners to fans, from staff to the global community. When the brand's direction isn't clear, People feel it. 👎🏽 The fans are divided. 👎🏽 The players are lost. 👎🏽 The atmosphere's tense. 👎🏽 There's no sense of unity 👎🏽 No clear guidance from the top. That's the CHAOS of no strategy. It leaves everyone unsettled. It breeds instability. Don't let your brand fall into this trap. 💡 Ensure your decision makers LEAD. 💡 Align your team. 💡 Unite your followers. 💡 And lead with a strong brand strategy. Who else is on this painful journey with me? Sunday should be interesting... (need some United LinkedIn friends… 😭) -- 🔑 Key Post Takeaway: When the strategic direction is missing, it affects everything. Including the day to day tasks and results. -- #manchesterunited #brand #brandstrategy #leadership I help SME's build IMPACTFUL brands, by formulating a clear, actionable brand strategy, through the flagship Brand Strategy Takeoff 🚀 program. 🎾🥊🤯Andy Murray's struggle against pain & injury to play one final tournament before retiring. Karriss Artingstall returning to boxing Gold after a seven year break to raise her 3 kids. Adam Peatty battling depression & burnout to compete again. There were dozens of compelling stories told involving GB's olympic team. The Olympics were brilliant. David and I found ourselves captivated every evening watching the inspirational skill, agility, physical and mental strength and resilience on show. Watching the BBC coverage we found ourselves often feeling really emotional. But neither of us are huge sports fans - and wouldn't usually be sat crying watching sport - so we got chatting about why it was happening. What was going on? Why were we having this emotional reaction to something that didn't normally register with us? And then it struck us. It was the storytelling. The BBC did a brilliant job of not just showing the action, but also telling the back-stories of the Team GB athletes and their personal journeys. Like the ones about Andy, Karriss and Adam. The one that got us most, though, involved the rower, Imogen Grant. She wrote a letter as a child expressing her dream of becoming an Olympian. She threw it away but her father kept the letter. Tragically, he passed away before she could realise her Olympic dream. But the letter became a symbol of her journey and determination, pushing her to fulfill the promise she made to herself as a child. The human stories gave the sporting action a deeper context, and created a much greater emotional connection. So what's all that got to do with Employer Branding? Well, the best Employer Brands don't just "show the action". They don't just tell people what happens and what to expect when they work with them. They tell their stories through the life and work experiences of their own people. They add context, depth and humanity to their storytelling. So, if your Employer Brand is simply "telling" information, look for the human stories that will help to elevate it into something that will truly engage and create a lasting emotional impact. #employerbranding #evp #talentacquisition #employeeengagement #humanresources 👨🎓We inspire, educate and support organisations of all sizes to deliver Employer Brand and EVP projects in-house through online courses, mentoring and project delivery. 🔔 Follow me and connect for more insights into Employer Branding and EVP. A common theme we hear from our guests is how important prioritizing self-care is in their everyday life. And traveling for work should be no different! A few tips we share in the latest blog post can help do that when you’re on the road: 🏃🏽♀️Move your body: Even a short walk or a quick yoga or meditation session in your hotel room can do wonders. If your hotel has a gym, take advantage of it. 🧘🏻♀️Recharge: Schedule short breaks throughout the day to unplug and recharge. Step outside, grab a coffee, or simply sit quietly for a few minutes. 💧Stay hydrated: It's easy to forget to drink enough water when you're on the go. Keep a reusable water bottle with you and refill it regularly. My Stories 🚀 Unlocking Self Growth through Personal Branding: Here is my take on what it means to me and how it transformed my path, peppered with some unforgettable encounters! 🔹 What Is Personal Branding to me? It's a unique concoction of skills, experiences and personality that I bring with me to the world I interact with. It's my personal and professional persona that shines through in interactions and how I present myself. 🔹 Fun bits Picture this: Chatting with Nelson Mandela, exchanging style notes with Carolina Herrera, diving deep into cricket analytics with an accomplished cricket commentator, being in discussion with Heads of Countries and discussing the future of HR with Fortune 500 CHRO's. Sounds interesting, right? Am grateful to have had this as part of my journey! Throughout my conversations and experiences, my personal brand has always been my guiding star. It's a blend of my candid communication, thoughtful interactions, presentation including a choice of attire - that built a distinctive style, that's all my own. Standing up for what I believe in, especially when presenting unpopular opinions, has defined the authenticity I stand for. Consistency is the thread that weaves the fabric of a personal brand. Showing up as your best and true self, time and again across all interactions builds a discipline for you and a level of trust that is your hallmark. 🔹My Learnings While I have embraced many opportunities, I acknowledge that building visibility and now enhancing my social presence is a frontier I am still exploring. It's a continuous journey to elevate my brand, engage with a wider audience, and imprint my unique mark on the digital world. 🔹 How does it serve me today? Now, as a coach, I leverage my personal branding journey to empower others. I help them create and refine their brands. It's not just about getting noticed; it's about being remembered, for the right reasons. So, here's to building a personal brand that's authentically yours, undeniably powerful, and unapologetically vibrant! 🌈✨ 🔥 #PersonalBranding #AuthenticityInAction #BeUnforgettable #LeadershipCoaching #BrandYou
