As the year draws to a close, we at Bakker Sliedrecht would like to extend our warmest wishes for the holiday season to all our clients, partners, and followers. Looking back on 2024, we are proud to reflect on the milestones and successes that have shaped an extraordinary year for Bakker Sliedrecht. This year marked the acquisition of Bakker Sliedrecht and RH Marine by VINCI Energies, opening an exciting new chapter in our journey. We also advanced the development of our DC-Grid and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) in the Dredging & Offshore industry, driving innovative solutions that enable the energy transition. In addition, we supported customers with the integration of mission equipment for Offshore Wind Installation, maximizing the performance of these complex vessels. At the same time, we assisted multiple customers with an ACS6000 modernization program to ensure reliable and safe operations for the years to come. Finally, we hosted our annual seminar, “Bakker Buitengaats,” exploring the theme “Increasing Autonomy Onboard.” This event sparked engaging discussions and facilitated the sharing of insights with clients and partners. As we look ahead to 2025, we remain steadfast in our commitment to our three core pillars: enabling the energy transition, maximizing asset performance, and providing support throughout the lifetime of systems, both in the Maritime and Land-based industries. We appreciate your trust and partnership and look forward to continuing our collaboration in the year ahead. #bakkersliedrecht #merrychristmas #newyear #maritime #landbased

Bakker Sliedrecht has successfully implemented Energy Storage Systems (ESS) on two of Boskalis' Diving Support Vessels, the BOKA Atlantis and BOKA Da Vinci. This innovative technology has reduced fuel consumption and emissions by up to 20%, while also providing power and energy storage capabilities when the vessels are docked. The conversion of both vessels was completed in a record time at the Boskalis Service Center in Rotterdam. Bakker Sliedrecht's comprehensive scope of supply included a battery pack, power converter system, transformer, switchboard panels, and a sophisticated ESS control system with multiple functionalities. Andy Waterstreet, Project Director at Bakker Sliedrecht, highlighted the efficient execution of the project: "We managed to limit the downtime to less than 2 months, including comprehensive offline preparation and in-house testing." This project underscores the importance of innovation and collaboration in reducing environmental impact and enhancing efficiency in the maritime sector. Zinus AS has been awarded a contract to deliver two advanced shore power units to the Port of Skagen, Denmark, as part of the port’s ongoing electrification efforts. The ZPP115 shore power units are scheduled for delivery in early 2025, marking a key step towards enhancing port electrification in one of Denmark’s busiest maritime hubs. “We are thrilled to add the Port of Skagen to our growing list of Danish clients,” said Klaus Kopelman, Sales Manager at Zinus AS. “These shore power units will provide a reliable, environmentally friendly solution, supporting the port’s efforts to cut emissions and create a cleaner, more sustainable environment.” Port electrification The ZPP115 units, designed for optimal energy efficiency and flexible cable management, will allow vessels docking at the Port of Skagen to transition to shore power, reducing the need for diesel generators. As part of Denmark’s broader goal to advance port electrification and reduce the maritime sector’s carbon footprint, this collaboration underscores the importance of shore power in achieving greener operations. Willy B. Hansen, CEO of Port of Skagen, added: “The Cabel Management System from Zinus AS is a vital part of the Port of Skagen pilot in the Interreg North Sea project - Green Supply Chains.” ”The pilot aim is to electrify the pelagic fish landing operation at the Scandic Pelagic & FF-Skagen landing terminals. The system will enable the large vessels to turn off their diesels and run on green electricity.” Over and above the pilot, the plan is for the ZPP115 units will serve a wide range of vessels, from fishing boats to cruise ships, aligning with the port’s diverse maritime needs. The installation of shore power at the Port of Skagen is a critical step in Denmark’s strategy to decarbonise its ports. 🌍🚢 Sedelsberg: hub for the energy transition! The Rhenus c-Port Küstenkanal site in Sedelsberg has once again proven itself to be an important logistics hub for the energy transition – this time with the largest handling operation in the port's history in terms of tons: two transformers weighing almost 450 tons, which were destined for the new substation in Garrel/Ost. From 2025, electricity from offshore wind farms is to be integrated into the transmission grid from there. ⚡ The enormous demands placed on the logistics of transporting gigantic components were efficiently and safely mastered thanks to the state-of-the-art infrastructure and the strategically favorable location of the site. The smooth process of transporting and loading the transformers illustrates the logistical expertise with which the site meets the requirements. Sedelsberg offers the necessary capacity and flexibility to implement even large-scale projects without any problems. 🏗️ The project was successfully realized together with the general contractor deugro group, the crane contractor Schmidbauer GmbH & Co. KG and the heavy load forwarder Kübler Spedition. More insights into the handling of the transformers and the project as a whole can be found on YouTube: https://bit.ly/3Ny8GMm! 📽️ #Rhenus #Logistics #TogetherWithPassion

Have you heard of ‘product-as-a-service?’ If not, it might be just about time. For the industry to become more responsible, we need new and alternative business models that are not just good for profit, but also for people and the planet. A great example of this is our collaboration with Semco Maritime concerning equipment for offshore installations within the conventional energy industry. As the equipment is not needed permanently, but only during specific phases of the project, Semco Maritime has opted to hire the equipment from Mouritsen A/S rather than buying it. This means that Semco Maritime does not need to invest in new, expensive equipment, but is always guaranteed the right equipment at the right time. And we make sure that the equipment always fits the job and has the necessary documentation. All in all, it's a great example of where we as an industry are headed thanks to upcoming business models like ‘product-as-a-service’. There is still a long way to go, but it has been a pleasure to work with Semco Maritime on this project – hopefully, it can inspire others... Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/dvjrBP-b

Located in Norway, Mowi is the world’s largest supplier of farm-raised salmon, supplying one-fifth of the global demand. To maintain their top-quality standards, they needed an uninterrupted power supply. Without it, the fish would die. Satema AS, Rehlko's authorized distributor in Norway, successfully delivered and installed two Rehlko gensets for Mowi. These power solutions are essential for supporting Mowi's operations in a remote area with an unreliable grid. Learn more about this project and how we're working to create an energy resilient world for a better future.
