Thinking before you act always informs you to remain calm, even in challenging situations. "HSE" as a profession is quite challenging and tasking , but you should always ensure as a "Safety Professional" you should think before you act . A Safety Professional is faced with a lot of hurdles to cross which involves the following but are not limited to these below: 1) How to convince management to have a buy-in. 2) How to motivate the workforce to follow procedures. 3) Kickback regarding processes that seem to delay operation rather than looking at the greater benefit. 4) Hatred from fellow colleagues when trying to do what is right and monitoring their compliance level. 5) Developing procedures and monitoring processes as well as ensuring that documentations are up-to-date. With all these points highlighted above the Safety professional will have to ensure he/she creates balance between the work and the family. In conclusion, when making or taking a decision ensure you analyse situations deeper which will give you a picture about what is the best decision and control measures to take to handle all these challenges and have a grasp of a detailed information or solution. #Think before you act#

Safety Professional Statement I am a Safety Professional I am not a "police officer" and I do not write "citations." My responsibility is to monitor, audit, document, review, advise, educate, and coach & correct. I do not have the desire to "Fire" anyone. My goal is to make sure each Team Member goes home to their family at the end of their shift. I will be firm, fair, and consistent with my responses. My ability to communicate is my strongest tool. I understand that making someone follow a rule/policy is easy but making them WANT to follow it is my responsibility and duty. I will identify gaps in the processes and advise my fellow team members on the best way to correct it. My knowledge, safety sense, and communication will take me further than any degree or certification I may have. Why? Because I am a Safety Professional....
