How to become good at cold outreach when you're starting out? Shadow the best-performing guy on the team and do twice the amount of his work. If he does 100 outreaches per day, you do 200. Volume compensates for the lack of skillset at the beginning. Simple, but not easy 😃

These three (maybe just two?) elements significantly impact the software security program of any company. It's like new frameworks and tech is clickbait for software engineers and architects.
3 reasons your software is more complex than it needs to be… - We like new and shiny things - We’re bored and want to spice things up - We’re padding our resumes so we can move on to our next job

Captain's Log, Stardate 2024.05.06 The search for an entry-level software engineering position continues, akin to navigating a particularly perplexing nebula. Despite firing off 220+ applications, the response remains as elusive as a cloaked Bird-of-Prey. In this cosmic game of hide-and-seek, I find myself pondering if I've stumbled into a Klingon cloaking field of joblessness. Perhaps it's time to take a page from Captain Kirk's playbook and boldly go where no applicant has gone before. But fear not, fellow crewmates, for in the vast expanse of the job market, there's always room for a bit of levity. After all, laughter is the best photon torpedo against the Borg of despair. Until next time, live long and prosper, and may the job offers be ever in your favor. Captain Campbell out. #JobSearchAdventures #SoftwareEngineering #EntryLevelJobs #StarTrekJobHunt #JobSeekerLife #CareerExploration #JobHuntingJourney #HumorInJobSearch #BoldlyApplying #LiveLongAndProsper #CareerQuest #LinkedInHumor

This is time-tested: Classic, but still very true. This applies to every level within almost any organization. These traits are particularly applicable in the field of Sales. In my area of business working with technology Account Execs and Solution Architects, these traits and characteristics also make the difference between a mediocre player and a highly effective team member. It can also mean the difference between keeping one’s job or losing it when businesses do performance ratings, or when times get tough and the business needs to take cost-cutting measures. Extra Mile or Minimum: Are you doing the bare minimum, or are you going the extra mile in everything you do? Do you tend to be defensive when you receive coaching and constructive criticism from your managers and/or peers? Don’t take your job for granted. Managers want their people to succeed, but as the old saying goes, “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.” Refuting the coaching, or playing passive-aggressive does not help you — it hurts you. Could they be wrong? -Sure. Here’s a thought: What if you asked for additional coaching and help from your manager and from your peers? Actively seek to be and do better. Develop a relationship with a peer coach who is willing to spend time with you. Many of your peers are willing to help, but you must ne the one to take the initiative, and put in the hard work — don’t expect your peer coach to do it all — you must do it all. Be the Better You: Take the initiative to be an even better employee than you think you already are. We all can use coaching, throughout our entire lives, in almost every area of life.
I am fortunate in my career to collaborate with some of Atlanta's top technologists . The last 10 years, one thing really stands out, if you are a technical genius , you won't be nearly as respected and trusted unless you pay attention to these things-- which I absolutely love . If you do these things and add in your intelligence you will be unstoppable !
