I had an excellent conversation on Bloomberg Radio regarding real estate investing this past year and the prospects for 2025. While there are lots of factors to track at the macro-level, such as interest rates (that have not dropped as fast or as steeply as everyone was expecting a few months ago) or the potential for tariffs under the second Trump Administration, I am bullish on our strategy of buying and improving workforce multifamily housing in the Southeast, where both population and wages are growing faster than national US averages. 

We may see the “extend and pretend” game run out of runway in 2025.      Ballast Rock Founder and CEO Thomas Carroll explains how, after patiently waiting to deploy capital for almost two years from our current real estate fund, we expect that workforce housing in the Southeast may provide some excellent investment opportunities in 2025 and beyond.
