'Web3 in France: where are we?' 🇫🇷 Yesterday our Ballou team had the opportunity to assist the conference and reveal of the study “Web3 in France: a growing ecosystem”, conducted by Doors3, Stack Talent, Finance Innovation, Adan and Banque Delubac & Cie. Key takeaways from the study: 1️⃣ Web3 in France is no longer a micro-phenomenon, but an expanding ecosystem with leading startups and unicorns. 2️⃣ The study highlights the importance of training and skills development to avoid talent drain. 3️⃣ It highlights the regulatory challenges facing companies in the sector, particularly with the entry into application of MiCA and TFR in December 2024. 4️⃣ Internationalization and collaboration between players are identified as crucial levers for the development of the sector. A morning which ended with a great exchange with subject experts involved in the research, such as Karen Jouve, Elodie TREVILLOT, Cyril Armange, Aurélien Mary and Laurent O. Thanks for this moment! #WebSummit2024 #imagiNATION For the #second #time, I have the privilege to represent the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova at the Web Summit in Lisbon - one of the biggest digital events in the world, with more than 70,000 attendees from 120 countries. Following Ghenadie Cernei's recommendation, I tried to follow the interest of the world's #Alfa, #Beta, and #Growth joined the Summit. I wanted to feel the wave of new ideas and how far away the #imagination of hundreds of open-minded programs worldwide goes. My first thought was that there were too many different directions. Still, after two days of studying, I came to some interesting conclusions: #Growth is more like "old school" in startups: AI and machine learning, EduTech, and e-commerce focused on sales. #Beta is about security, data storage and management, human resources management, FinTech, KYC, and AI in legal services and management. #Alfa is about all that has already been mentioned (because those proved they can bring money), but also Healthtech, hardware (mostly optimization with home devices), behavior management in e-commerce, fashion, travel, dating, streaming/games, and #carbon #print and #waste #management. And here, they melted my heart and occupied much of my time discussing and understanding what they were coming up with. Still, I miss seeing the #Moldova #Sign under which our startups would have a particular stand, to enjoy #our #tendencies and our part of imagiNATION as well. On top of this, many solutions referred to e-gov, and I was pleased to realize that our e-solutions (#m #for #Moldova solutions, to be correct) are more profound, with a much more sophisticated structure and solve more significant problems. I missed the stand of our #E-#Gov #Agency, where this young enthusiast could learn from us and come up with something even better once. Apart from that, I have enjoyed some #speeches and #discussion #panels on about ten stages, my favorite being (of course!) #FinTechSummit and #GovSummit. You can not imagine how engaging the discussions in GovSummit (I mean it!), by raising a lot of complicated questions and bringing together great minds from the Gov all around the world: speaking about #DATAlism, or #nonations world, #technology #oligarhs or #dictators, or just #pitching for #Moldova as Dumitru Alaiba (a lot of #proud here) against Serbian Minister, reminds me how complicated and fascinating is this world and how quick it evolves beyond our #imagination. In the Fintech part, I was happy to hear that the brightest one considers #taxtech a genuine #future of #fintech, together with #Instant #payment (and here I miss Vadim Jeleascov and his #MIA), new ways to identify the consumers and their preferences (#KYC and #KYP), #financial #inclusion and #fineducation, #data #privacy and how #AI can #help a lot in #combating #financial #frauds. There are tons of emotions and info. I can't wait for the next year!
