Today is a day of reflection and action. #InternationalDayOfCleanEnergy is an opportunity to strengthen our commitment to hitting our climate targets while working towards an inclusive transition for all.
💨 After more than two decades in the wind industry, my fascination for this incredible natural resource remains unchanged. From my early days as an aerospace engineer captivated by the fluid dynamics; wind was more than just a subject to me; it was a passion, a calling. Being part of the mission to tackle one of our generation's greatest challenges fills me with immense pride—a sentiment shared by our entire #TeamPurple.
Onshore wind is projected to grow exponentially by 2030, and we are fully committed to being part of this transformative journey. However, the transition to cleaner energy isn't a solo endeavor. It requires unwavering commitment from all stakeholders to fulfill their promises. Each individual has a role to play, and together, we can turn ambitious targets into a reality.
Today, we reflect on why we do what we do and the profound impact our contributions have, reaching far beyond the daily challenges. Our Onshore business could not continue to support the production of clean energy without our global network of Siemens Gamesa colleagues. Therefore, to mark this important day of action and awareness, we asked some of them to share with us their favorite facts about wind energy. Watch below 👇

You’ve heard of the three R's – reduce, reuse, and recycle. But how about repower? GE Vernova will #repower five wind turbines in #Italy with our #WorkHorse 6.1 MW–158m turbine.
Repowering involves replacing older units with new, higher capacity turbines or retrofitting them with more efficient components – in both cases, significantly increasing wind farm production while extending the wind farm life.
This project with Ivpc Group is part of our efforts to support customers in driving the #EnergyTransition in the #EuropeanUnion and marks the first use of the 6MW workhorse turbine in Italy.
Details of this deal can be found in the comments below.

So the cut down t he things that consume CO2 emissions to build machines that produce electricity at a near zero CO2 emissions - that is until you factor on the CO2 produced by the manufacturing of those wind turbines. The net CO2 production is net foolish, forced by the climatologists.
