Building Societies are renowned for their focus on service, mutuality, integrity and community. But, the many obstacles they face in delivering digital solutions for their members has put them at real risk of extinction. The latest research from Moneyhub highlights a stark reality: there is a gap between consumer expectations and the digital offerings of building societies. 80% of the public believe that having a good online platform is crucial when choosing a new financial provider. Almost half (47%) building society customers report difficulties in engaging with their services, with digital experience being a frequent pain point. 73% of 18-34 year olds said they look for an easy-to-use app when choosing financial products The success and sustainability of building societies going forward hinges on collaboration. Due to limited resources and budget, they may not be best poised to deliver their services through technology as members are coming to expect. As one sector leader told Moneyhub: “None of us have big change budgets, but that means rather than say, ‘Right, well, we’ll do loads of this work internally with a huge change budget,’ you go and find the ecosystem of partners who are out there, looking at innovative things.” Fintechs like Moneyhub can help firms deploy proven digital solutions, at speed, scale, and reduced cost. Building societies face losing the consumers of tomorrow without such solutions. Read the full “Digitise or die” whitepaper which deep dives into the research and serves as a roadmap for building societies ready to embrace digitalisation and helps overcome the obstacles many face. In social housing, compliance with regulations and standards is non-negotiable. To stay on top of evolving regulations, housing associations and local councils need the right technology to ensure accurate, up-to-date records of all maintenance activities. AI-powered systems are transforming the way we manage compliance. These smart platforms can automatically generate reports for repairs, inspections, and safety checks—ensuring that all legal and regulatory requirements are met seamlessly. Plus, technology brings accountability to a new level by offering a clear audit trail for all maintenance activities. Housing providers can easily track who performed each repair, when it was completed, and confirm whether it met required standards. This transparency is key to building trust with tenants and makes property management smarter and more secure for everyone involved. Propsys360 is Neo Technology's new housing solution, built to support social housing providers with the huge challenges they’re facing. VP Leadership Learning & Development at RE/MAX India | 17+ Years Experience | Real Estate Skill Development & Career Coach | Committed to Educating 10 Lac Agents by 2028 through SREE (Successful Real Estate Programme)
"Find out where the people are going and buy the land before they get there." —William Penn Adair. Reading this quote made me think, how beneficial it can be for a real estate entrepreneur to being one step ahead of the crowd! Location is paramount in real estate, and understanding demographic trends can turn strategic land purchases into high-value investments. For instance, urban planners and developers who identified the potential of Silicon Valley in the early stages secured significant returns as the region evolved into a global tech hub. Strategic foresight and data-driven decision-making continue to play a significant role in success of real estate ventures. This fact emphasizes the importance of researching and anticipating demographic and economic trends to make informed decisions in real estate. Just as early investors in Silicon Valley benefited immensely by recognizing its future potential, current real estate professionals can leverage data and trends to identify emerging hotspots and invest wisely.
