🦞 Happy World Lobster Day! 🦞 Today holds a special place in my heart and my personal journey. I started the day playing my own character “Lobsy” in the Bubble Ranger game reflecting on how life, like design, is full of transformations. It’s fascinating to think that in the 1770s, lobster was considered a “poor man’s meal,” reserved for prisoners, apprentices, and enslaved people due to its abundance. Later it was “soldiers food” with WW2. Fast forward to today, and it’s now a delicacy, symbolizing luxury and celebration. This shift reminds me that life is all about perspective and change. Just like the evolution of lobster’s status, our own journeys are filled with unexpected turns. We may not always win at everything we desire, but it’s those changes and challenges that help us grow, redefine ourselves, and find new meaning in what we do. Today, I’m celebrating all the Lobsy moments—the small yet significant steps that shape our unique paths. Let’s honor our personal growth and resilience, and embrace the transformations life and design bring, because today is the day of the lobster! Wishing everyone a day filled with gratitude, joy, and a dash of Lobsy spirit! #WorldLobsterDay #CelebrateWins #Resilience #PersonalProjects #BubbleRanger #LobsyJourney #CreativeLife #Transformation #DesignEvolution #lobsy #bubbleranger

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲? A good old street fair 🎠🎡 In this episode of Room For Revenue, I visited the Normal Heights Street Fair! 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝐭𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲: ➡️ Parking lots ➡️ The Taco Shop Theory ➡️ The Upsell during the pre-sale Did you know local community events like this not only help bring people into new communities but, can triple and even quadruple your city or venues revenue?! 𝗛𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗱-𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁? What themed event has generated your venue the most revenue? Just a heads-up: the views shared here are mine alone and not associated with the Normal Heights Street Fair. These are my opinions on where there is room for revenue at this particular location and not a reflection of other locations or the corporation. #roomforrevenue #sandiego #revenue #sales #hospitality

Ever had doubts? The kind of doubts, uncertainties, worries, fears ... that have held you back? That have stopped you doing that thing you wanted to do. Maybe in business. If you don't slay these doubts, uncertainties, worries, fears ... they'll dominate your life. You'll play small, living a shadow of what you're capable of. Imagine the cost of letting that happen. Imagine the regret. Imagine the impact on you and those around you. THAT'S what we're going to tackle at the Extreme Confidence Breakthrough Experience, on 9th July. Sarah and I arrived at the hotel. I am giving a keynote address on the success principles that empower individuals and organizations to take their journey from great to extraordinary. The staff at the Westin blew us away with their hospitality and aloha. They gave us our keys and sent us on our way. It took us a minute to find the room and when we did, it was marvelous! They gave us the presidential penthouse suite. (Here’s a little tour...) As a guy who studies the common traits of extraordinary behavior and achievement, one of the traits I admire most is the joy of living between simplicity and extravagance. As many of you know I started my journey living in a Volkswagen Bus, eating food off my Coleman stove and now living in a tiny home on an organic farm. It is incredibly fulfilling bouncing between these two realities. Having spent time with some of the most successful and wealthy people on this planet, those that can afford and buy all the luxuries one can imagine, I have seen first hand how happy they are with nothing. I know, you’re probably saying, “That’s easy for them, they have everything.” But I can assure that they didn’t always have everything. In fact, many of the truly great visionaries, pioneers and leaders of industry, came from nothing, so they had nothing to lose. They began their journeys from humble beginnings. I have always believed if one can be grateful with little they can be rewarded with a lot. Besides, life is fickle and we never know what’s around the next corner. So appreciate what you have and always make the best of where you are. Today we’re balling in our suite and in a couple of days, we’ll be back at the farm and I’ll be helping Sarah gather cow poop in buckets to fertilize the garden. Somedays “You're the shit!” and others “You are in the shit!” The big question is: Can you enjoy it all? -- #keynotespeaker #westin #marriott #hospitality #personaldevelopment #successprinciples #ericsaperston

Congratulations #MachineGames, #Bethesda, and #Xbox! I'm very happy to see Indiana Jones and the Great Circle come out. It has been a long journey for Indy. Machine Games is getting better and better with each release. And they look to be the perfect developer for Indy. I hope this is the first of several Indiana Jones adventures from Machine Games. Remember, the MachineGames folks who came from StarBreeze worked on the fantastic Chronicles of Riddick and The Darkness games back in the day. There is a fantastic lineage of experience and play from The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay (2004), The Darkness (2007), and The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (2009) to Wolfenstein: The New Order (2014), The Old Blood (2015), The New Colossus (2017), and Young Blood (2019) to the just released Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (2024). There is both individual and studio learning across two decades of First Person Adventures that gets us to from Chronicles of Riddick to The Darkness to Wolfenstein to Indiana Jones. This is game history in motion. Back in 2009 I almost went to LucasArts for the last Indiana Jones that LucasArts almost made. This was before Disney bought the six Lucas companies in 2012 for $4 billion. When that Indy was canceled in 2009, I instead went to id Software. At id Software I saw the care and attention that Machine Games had for Wolfenstein, while we worked on Rage & Doom. I also released Wolfenstein on Mobile and back onto consoles. Meanwhile MachineGames labored on Wolfenstein for over a decade putting out fantastic new Wolfenstein games to complement the classic. So yeah, if I can't make Indy, I'm happy that MachineGames is. I've seen and played MachineGames' work, directly and indirectly, for a long time. MachineGames is a fantastic steward for Indiana Jones in First Person Adventures. I hope that Indy and MachineGames have a rich and entangled future for a decade to come. I want to play the games they'll make. I have loved Indiana Jones since I was a kid. So I'm happy to inhabit Indy through a First Person window via the development wizardry, expertise, love, care, and craft from MachineGames. ps. As a former Looking Glass and id Software game designer I am so happy that Indiana Jones is a first person adventure. pps. Make good games to build good developers to make great studios to make great games. #indianajones #microsoft #xbox #gamepass #bethesda #machinegames
