Our Associates answered the call and the #DoGoodMovement is in full swing this summer! We hosted nearly 30 volunteer events in the month of June. Banfield Gives Back is one of the largest volunteer programs in the veterinary industry, giving our Associates more opportunities to volunteer, dream big and do good. We love seeing our Associates lending their support and volunteering with causes and organizations in our communities to improve the lives of pets and increase access to care. From doggy spa days to dog park cleanups to free clinics and animal rescue adoption events. Even our NextVet interns have joined the movement and attended events in their local markets as a part of their internship. We're just getting started, so stay tuned for more updates later this summer! #BanfieldPetHospital #BanfieldLife #BanfieldCareers #ProudlyMars #ABetterWorldForPets #Volunteering #BanfieldGivesBack

🔬 Science Career Coach | MS, PhD, CPCC | empowering students & early career professionals in science & medicine | finding joy in the journey, not just the destination!
👆Prioritization: we’ve all done it, subconsciously or intentionally, especially during the busy holiday season. 💡This week we are inspired by the zoo keepers of the world, whose responsibilities don't pause for the holidays. 📈 The primary job of a zoo curator is to maintain animal welfare, while also considering the visitor experience. 👆 For zoo curators to meet the needs of animals, visitors, and staff, they must prioritize what exhibits, programs, and outreach initiatives will be most beneficial and align with what matters most to each party. 🔍 In terms of your career, honing your prioritization skills can allow you to observe, evaluate, and focus on your most crucial tasks without feeling swamped or stuck. 👏 While the holiday season can feel overwhelming with added personal and professional pressures, a strong ability to prioritize can lead to more efficient and effective outcomes and less stress overall. 👉 Feeling swamped? Some steps for prioritizing include: 🔸Write down your list of tasks 🔸Delete at least three non-essential tasks off the list 🔸Delegate the tasks that can be delegated 🔸Determine how long the remaining tasks will take and schedule them into your day 🔸Do something to celebrate when you complete your tasks And remember a zoo curator never loses sight of whats most important (the animals), now should you - what's most important to you this holiday season? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #successinscience #zoocurator #zoos #prioritization #careeradvice #careerjourney #sciencecareer #STEMcareer #collegestudent #gradstudent #college #learning #careerfoundation #career #careerdevelopment #careeradvice #holidays #christmas #survivingtheholidays #happynewyear #newyearsresolution

Happy Cow Appreciation Day! 🐮 Before we dive into our celebrations, let’s share a bit of history. Did you know this day started as a marketing campaign by a fast-food chain in 2004, promoting the idea that cows want people to eat more chicken? Regardless of its origins, as animal welfare advocates, we're reclaiming this day to celebrate cows for who they are. Let's deepen our appreciation for these wonderful animals with some fun facts: 👯 COWS HAVE BESTIES: Cows live complex social lives just like us, forming strong lifelong friendships with each other and feeling stressed when separated from their friends. 💡 COWS ARE SMART: Navigating complex social lives takes serious brain power. Curious in nature, cows think critically to solve problems and even show signs of excitement when solving a problem! 👋 COWS CAN REMEMBER YOU: Cows can tell people, animals and other cows apart by their shapes and colours!

Where action and passion collide: a department becomes a team. Networks and communities are the most fantastic reminder that we are all fighting the same good fight - no matter where you are. My friend Tess E. shared something incredible, and I couldn’t keep it to myself: Ever heard of Hilde Tudora? She's this incredible force in Romania’s animal welfare scene. Let me tell you why she's a true inspiration. Hilde, a former journalist turned Head of Animal Welfare at Ilfov County Council, is on a mission. In a place where street dogs pose a challenge, she and her team are doing more than just ticking the boxes; they're making a real impact. What started in 2021 as a department at Ilfov County Council has turned into a passionate team of ten individuals committed to changing how animals are seen and treated in their community. One of their most notable successes was an adoption campaign, "Fill the Void in Your Life." Imagine football players from the 1st League entering official games with dogs available for adoption. Heartwarming, right? Seven other countries thought so as well and did the same thing. Their platform, www.ilfovadopta.ro, makes the adoption process a breeze. But it's about more than immediate solutions. With free spay and neuter campaigns, they've sterilized over 6,300 animals. Hilde is investing in a future where humans and animals coexist harmoniously. And they’re creating lasting change—by going to schools, and teaching kindness and responsibility to children through engaging activities and games. "It's learning time with our pets. What can they teach us? How to be a better human being. Relax and enjoy!" Hilde says. Hilde's philosophy is simple but profound: "In a civilized community, humans do not care only about other humans, but about all forms of life." She's calling us all to fight side by side, acknowledging our shared responsibility. Hilde Tudora and her colleagues are doing something incredible, and I'm all in to support their cause. Let's stand with them in creating a world where compassion and responsibility define our relationship with every living being. 🐾 ➡ Click and FOLLOW my LinkedIn hashtag #dogsimeet for more Dog Tales and brand marketing tips and advice. #animalwelfare #changemakers #collaboration

I love the story of how my co-founder got her job! 😍 It shows how the best jobs sometimes start with actually doing the job before anyone offers it to you. 💡 Constance Li joined our community Slack space at Impactful Animal Advocacy couple of months after we started it. Immediately, she was the most active member. She commented under every post, was very responsive and jumped at every opportunity to get involved. Most importantly, she took lots of initiative to start her own projects. She organised meet-ups and brainstorming sessions. She started new channels. She gave us feedback and make suggestions on how to improve the space. She offered to become a moderator. She probably invited more people to the space than we did. For many things, she didn’t ask for permission. She just did them. We were ok with it because we are believers in giving the community a space to create their own projects. Sometimes we did have to give her feedback on what not to do or doing something differently and she happily accepted it and changed. I don’t even remember the exact moment Constance became a part of our team. I just remember that one day we invited her to our strategy meeting and we started co-working virtually every day on a big project - organising our presence at a major conference. While working together was fun, it was stressful and a lot of work. We both put in long hours to make it happen. But it was a great opportunity for me to see Constance in action and get to know her as a person, and for her to get to know the team. Once the event was over, I couldn’t help but offer Constance the co-founder role. She not only deserved it but she also showed me her commitment and skills. I could trust her with the project because I could see she already treated it as her own. Thanks to our work together as well as our other amazing team members and volunteers, Impactful Animal Advocacy is now much more than a Slack space - we are a global hub for farmed animal advocates, to collaborate and make their projects happen! What I love about this story is how much ownership and initiative Constance took and how she never asked us for permission to do the work. She just did it. And that was the best way to show she was suited for the job. I think job seekers can learn a bit from this story - read my recommendations in the comments! (I’m not saying that everyone should do exactly what Constance did. Constance did have a lot of time to volunteer for us at the beginning which is a privilege both for her and for us. But I still think this can be useful for others!) Can you relate to this story? Share your thoughts:)

What is the culture of Nebo Animal Clinic. Nebo Animal Clinic has been around for quite a while which means the majority of the equipment in the clinic is older and among some of the first veterinary equipment. The lifestyle and culture of many of the workers is among the more country/farmer style. Which means they all also specialize in farm animals such as goats, sheep, horses, and cattle. The clinic mostly works with small animals such as dogs and cats but they can also work with livestock. I think it is good for a vet clinic to have experience in all kinds of animals so they can have more experience. That all being said, more variety of animals means more variety of people. In which, Nebo Animal Clinic does a great job trying to make sure no customers leave unsatisfied with their visit. Nebo Animal Clinic is also great at giving many different options for solutions to a problem. Nebo Animal Clinic is a very multi-culture environment, meaning, there is many different cultures within the vet clinic and many different cultures that enter the clinic as customers. #nebointerns #shhsinternships #interships

Founder of Pupstarts Breeders, educator and champion of ethical breeders 💜 Stand out from the crowd with my Ofqual regulated courses! 🙌
Let me take you back to the beginning. 🙂 I'm Rebecca Walters, the person behind Pupstarts Breeders. With over 16 years in the game, I'm not just your average dog breeder… I'm a 5 star licensed breeder… and I’m on a mission! A mission to provide dog breeders with the tools and education to become the best, ethical breeders they can be. It's not just about making cute puppies; it's about making a difference in the world of dogs. Pupstarts Breeder isn’t about creating more dog breeders in the world - it’s about supporting and educating the breeders that we already have. I know there is a stigma to breeding, the whole ‘adopt don’t shop' stigma. I fully support that motto, however, let me tell you, I've seen it all, from my days leading the Dog Warden Service in Waltham Forest to my eye opening stint at Battersea Dogs Home. If dogs were bred and matched responsibly, there may very well be even less dogs looking for homes in rescues. In 15 years time - if breeders were to stop dog breeding altogether… there would be no dogs. So we do have a role to play, but we need to make sure that as breeders we are the best that we can be ensuring that those dogs are set up for success. And because of this… I've poured my heart and soul into creating Pupstarts breeders, an education platform with courses, support and information for breeders. I want to empower breeders like you to raise happy, healthy pups and change the game for the better. You as a dog breeder, have the power to evoke incredible change for dogs everywhere. You really do. 🙂 Share this post! #pupstartsbreeders #ethicalbreeders #educationforbreeders
