Philippines to Revive Garment and Textile Sector to Boost Exports - A legislator from the Bicol Region is advocating for the revival of the country’s garment and textile industry, once a significant dollar earner, as part of the Marcos administration's broader strategy to boost Philippine exports and achieve its export targets. "The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Board of Investments (BOI), along with other relevant agencies, must collaborate intensively with the private sector to revisit the garment and textile industry roadmap outlined in the Philippine Export Development Plan (PEDP) of the Marcos administration. This is essential to rejuvenate the clothing and apparel sector and reestablish the Philippines as a leading global producer and exporter of these goods," stated Camarines Sur Representative Luis Raymund Villafuerte.
