Bangladesh's Ready-Made Garment (RMG) industry is on track for remarkable growth as it strives to reach its ambitious $100 billion export target by 2030. Premium finished denim is a key contributor to this goal, offering a strong opportunity to boost revenue within the broader RMG sector. Recent data highlights that premium denim can command up to 30% higher export prices compared to standard denim. This price premium reflects the added value of high-quality finishes and innovative designs, which attract discerning buyers globally. As Bangladesh leverages its competitive pricing and advanced production capabilities, focusing on premium products can enhance profit margins and solidify its position as a leading player in the global denim market. By emphasizing quality and value, Bangladesh’s denim sector is set to drive substantial growth and achieve its export goals. Almost 11 years ago, on April 24, 2013, the collapse of the Rana Plaza textile factory building in Bangladesh occurred - a tragedy killing more than 1,100 people and injuring another 2,500 people, making it the fourth largest industrial disaster in history. Fashion Revolution week was initiated to commemorate this tragic incident. It stands against the erasure of history exploitation and injustice in the fashion industry. ARMEDANGELS does not produce in Bangladesh, but we continue to support the NGWF with the sale of our Fash Rev t-shirt, which is fighting for the rights and human dignity of workers in the Bangladesh garment industry through legal means. "People make our products. Because they are made by human hands. Without these people, we wouldn't have a product. And so it is our job to ensure that working conditions are good for people - no matter where they live. And only if we take good care of people, people can also take good care of our planet." - Julia Aruni Kirschner, Director Impact & Innovation
