Textile recycling offers a powerful solution by collecting and reprocessing waste into new products. For Bangladesh, a major player in cotton clothing manufacturing, this could translate into $1.2 billion in recycled textile value. However, only a meager five percent of the 600,000 tonnes of pre-consumer textile waste is recycled within the country. Producers often import recycled fiber from the waste they export. Bangladesh could save $500 million on imports by fully recycling its cotton waste, turning waste into a significant economic opportunity.
