UniCredit is buying Vodeno (and Aion Bank). Wow. You remember the pandemonium unleashed the week when this was floated as an idea back in February? Now it's done. This is great - very exciting for the marketplace, not least because it requires every single bank executive management team to pause and ask what is Andrea Orcel (CEO, UniCredit) doing? What does he know, that we don't? What has he now got, that we missed? What does it mean for us, now? They'll need those answers, because a lot of shareholders and analysts will now be asking direct questions about your technology stack and your approach to bank-as-a-service.
