Next Sunday, we are planting trees off Carolls Lane in Wodonga. Wear closed shoes, long pants and warm clothes and make a difference to nature, biodiversity and the climate. Register now at https://bit.ly/4bbjVnp. For every new account or loan, we plant a tree to help revegetate, regenerate and rehabilitate our local native bushland. It's all about loving where we live and investing in it for the future.

Mangroves and Saltmarsh are among the most valuable and productive ecosystems on earth, and are also the most threatened, disappearing at an alarming rate globally. At Earthwatch, we refuse to stand idly by while mangroves face unprecedented challenges. Through our innovative approach, we educate, activate and empower communities to highlight local mangrove values and identify threats. By doing so, we enable local communities to become champions of mangrove conservation. Join us in continuing this momentum. We can make a meaningful difference in the work to preserve our planet's biodiversity to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come. 30% (73!) of the 245 birds regularly seen in the UK are now on the red list! But there's hope! Every action, no matter how small, can help. Here's how you can contribute: Support conservation organizations: Donate to groups like the RSPB and BTO. Reduce your carbon footprint: Opt for sustainable transportation, conserve energy, and reduce waste. Choose sustainable seafood: Look for certifications like MSC. Volunteer: Participate in beach/park cleanups or bird surveys. Spread awareness: Share information about seabird conservation on social media. Together, we can and must protect these incredible creatures for future generations. https://lnkd.in/eUUTax-3

It's only natural for us to talk a lot about the benefits of trees. But one of the things we are most excited about at Lower Chew Forest is that alongside planting 100,000 trees, we will also be creating new wetland habitats, hedgerows, and species-rich grassland. 🦋 🌸 🐝 It will take more than just trees to address the tragic loss of wildlife Britain has experienced over the last 100 years. To reverse the decline of native invertebrates, birds and mammals, we need to increase the diversity of habitats that those species need. At Lower Chew Forest, we will create a well connected mosaic of complementary habitats that are resilient to the effects of global warming, but we can only do it with your help. Our campaign has raised £58,000 since launching, and we hope to reach even more businesses and ethical organisations this week. Every single share helps us to reach more people, so if you like what we are doing to help nature recover in the South West, please take a moment to let colleagues know the cause is important to you! 🌍Happy #EarthDay! Trees are essential for our planet’s health. They fight climate change, reduce pollution and flooding, improve wellbeing, and benefit people and wildlife everywhere. 🌳 We are proud partners of the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity The Woodland Trust and support their work to create resilient, quality native woods, while protecting and restoring UK woodlands and their irreplaceable ecosystems so that nature and people can thrive. 🌱 The Woodland Trust has a mission to tackle climate change and get 50 million more native trees growing in the UK by 2030. But, for a healthier planet, we don’t just need more trees in the UK, we need to restore the woods we have and demand better protection for our oldest trees. Find out more about the work of the Woodland Trust and how you can stand up for UK woods and trees this #EarthDay2024: https://bit.ly/49Du7UH #EarthDay2024 #plantmoretrees #treesmeanbusiness

The Importance of Protecting Elephants During our presentation, we highlighted three significant ways in which elephants contribute to our lives. Mr. David Kabambo emphasized youth living close to protected areas -Western Corridor of Serengeti National park (Serengeti National park and Kijereshi Game Reserve) the importance of elephants for national income through wildlife-based tourism and community development initiatives. Furthermore, studies have demonstrated that elephants play a crucial role in maintaining forest health by dispersing tree seeds. Their extensive roaming enables them to distribute tree seedlings across vast areas, contributing to the regeneration of forests. This helps ensure the long-term storage of carbon in tree trunks, roots, and soils, ultimately mitigating the impacts of climate change. #conservation #elephantprotection #wildlifetourism #communitydevelopment #foresthealth#rettetdieelefanten#davidkabambo#courtney# Ecoexist#TRCO# DZS:

Wisconsin Lumber is proud to be a 🌴 Conservation Circle Partner 🌴 of Rainforest Trust, one of the world’s most effective conservation charities. We are donating to Rainforest Trust to support and protect endangered species, threatened rainforests, and other tropical ecosystems around the world. Our donations will safeguard real acres of rainforest! Rainforests are one of the most important natural resources on Earth and affect the daily lives of everyone on our planet. They safely store billions of tons of carbon, helping to mitigate climate change, stabilize global weather patterns, clean water, and are even a source for modern medicines. Rainforests are also home to 50% of the world’s species, many of which are critically endangered. Thousands of indigenous communities rely on these forests for their food, water, and economic prosperity. In short, rainforests help to sustain life on this planet, and their long-term protection is absolutely vital for our survival. Rainforest Trust ensures the protection of these vital ecosystems through partnerships with local communities and trusted in-country partner NGOs. The charity has already saved over 50 million acres of rainforest and other tropical ecosystems.
