In August 2017, all my PRs were getting tons of pushback, nitpicking, never-ending discussions. In September 2017, all my PRs were getting accepted with positive comments. So what happened? Did I do anything different? Did I change in any way? No! I realised I was not in the right environment for me so I changed the environment. I left that company and joined Meta. This post is a kind reminder for everyone who feels they're not in the right environment. Interview, network, up-skill and do everything in your power to leave drama behind. Your future self will be thanking you! #meta #growth

Along with other companies in recent times, Meta has scrapped its DEI program. However, they have also scrapped the Supplier Diversity program. With Supplier Diversiry being such a big factor in the Continegnt Workforce and staffing supplier space, I'm very curious on how a general shift in DEI approach will affect the Supplier Diversity piece. Will Supplier Diversity programs be eliminated or change forms? Or be replaced with another angle? Supporting SMEs or something else? Or is Meta just an outlier and things will stay the same/similar? Any thoughts welcome.

"I passed and got the role with no down level!" said a recent client who went through the Meta PM interview loop. This is my 3rd client who got the Meta PM offer WITHOUT any down leveling. They are IC5, IC6, and also IC7 ❤️ I personally got down leveled by Meta... First time I applied, I was rejected right away without the chance to interview. 2nd time I applied, same thing happened. 3rd time I applied, I didn't pass the interview. 4th time I applied, I passed but got down leveled. I was disappointed for sure, and I didn't agree with their decision. But, looking back, knowing what I know now which I didn't know before, I can definitely see why they down leveled me. I just wish that someone could have coached me back then on the actual needle movers. That would have saved me years of my own trial and error and opportunity cost. The down leveling is not just the financial impact, but also plays big a role in how others perceive my "worth", and more importantly, how I perceive my own "worth". For many years, I let the system define my worth because I wasn't conscious that that was how I was operating. But now I know. I now have the tools to save you a lot of time trying to figure everything out on your own, and I've made it my mission. My mission is to uplift you so you can accomplish your goals that are BIGGER than anything I've accomplished myself. This is what energizes me. I get energy when I am able to generate energy for you! I now get way more energy uplifting you than the energy I felt when I was working on products that were used by millions of users. ---- I will bring another group of PMs together to help them ace their L6+ (Director/GPM/Staff/Principal) PM interviews. Would you like to join us? Comment and let's chat! #leadership #interview #success

I was reminded today of this Meta poster from the time I worked in their facilities a few years ago as a vendor. This taught me more than many courses I would do earlier or later on, not just because of the sentence itself, but because there was a moment in which a person tried to mispurpose the line by saying "isn't it my problem 'everyone else's problem'? They can deal with it in my place then". Of course this drove the internal community in a long speech about the company values and that type of positioning. How peculiar an interpretation can be when we differ values from the place we're in, right? This is just an example to show that big posts in LinkedIn about leadership and management do not mean anything if you're unable to understand that before being a leader, you're part of the whole team that composes your project and your company. If you're pushing to be the only one speaking and the only one not guilty of anything, then you're doomed to failure - and you're taking everyone with you. Our hierarchy should never mean having the power to do anything we want, or to not lend our hand to whoever is in need, regardless if it is our problem or not. Be in accordance with the ecosystem in which you are inserted and you'll see the magic of it happily feeding itself happening. PS: Thank you, Meta, for the valuable words and thoughts. #leader #leadership #quote #business #teamwork #Meta

In case you missed it 👀 Meta is eliminating its major DEI programs, effective immediately (10 January 2025) Here's the low-down 👇 ▪️ The company is dissolving its DEI department ▪️ Meta will no longer use the "Diverse Slate Approach" which considered candidates from underrepresented groups for open roles ▪️ Equity & inclusion training programs will be replaced with initiatives aimed at "reducing bias for everyone, regardless of their background" ▪️ Meta will cease collaborations with "diverse" suppliers, focusing instead on small & medium enterprises ▪️ Meta cites the changing "legal and policy landscape" as the reason for these changes ▪️ The decision aligns Meta with the incoming Trump administration's stance on DEI ▪️ The change is part of a broader shift in Meta's policies, including leadership changes & revised speech policies ▪️ Other tech companies like Microsoft & Zoom have also rolled back DEI efforts

Never put all your eggs in one basket 🙅♀️ Yesterday was a reminder why Peak is here. Two of my clients happen to have issues with Meta. ~ One was a payment error - Meta sort it out. This happens far too often! ~ & another client randomly had an ad deleted. By who? Meta No flags, no policy violations & the worst thing? No email warning. Thankfully I log into my client accounts every day & refresher it a few times a day (to keep me sane) and spotted it immediately. Oh why have you decided to delete an ad that was top performing and gaining momentum. This seems so malicious! 🧙 Key takeaway? A reminder to anyone out there that if you put all your eggs in one basket and solely rely on one channel for performance, when things go pear shaped that are outside of your control you're going to see an impact on performance. How much you rely on that channel will depend on the impact this will have. These things genuinely happen! Ps. why is getting through to Meta support genuinely harder than calling HRMC?
