In cement clinker production, especially in plants operating on alternative fuels, the efficient management of bypass dust is a significant challenge. This dust, rich in chlorine and alkaline compounds, has a limited use in cement mills due to its classification as hazardous waste, resulting in high disposal costs.
Our patented ReduDust process transforms this bypass dust into a valuable resource. By extracting pure NaCl and KCl salts from the dust, it is possible to recover these valuable materials and purify the residual dust from unwanted components. This purified residual can then be fully recycled back into the cement production process, increasing efficiency without adding unwanted materials.
How ReduDust Works:
The process begins with a crucial leaching step, where the dust is mixed with water to dissolve the salt content into a brine. Following this, the crystallization process takes place, which can be tailored to specific plant needs due to its modular nature.
