Happy new Data Culture year! Are you planning to bring the Data Culture in your company to the next level in 2025? Then this event information might be interesting for you: We are hosting a Data Culture Summit on January 28 together with BARC and Data Culture practitioners from various industries and companies. Me and my team often get asked for sparring with other companies as we have been working on this topic since 3,5 years and are seen as one of the frontrunners on the topic of Data Culture. We embrace a culture of sharing experiences and learning from likeminded data culture warriors - however in the spirit of being mindful with our own time and ressources we mainly do sparrings in dedicated sessions like this and not on 1:1 basis with other companies. At the Data Culture summit You can expect best practices on: - Building Data & AI literacy in your company 🎓 - Leveraging the power of internal networks and communities 👯♂️ - Establishing a data-driven culture 🕺🏾 - Frameworks for Data Culture strategy and execution 🧮 - Mastering Data Culture operations ⚙️ - What worked and what did not work ‼️ You can expect networking opportunities: - with our Data Culture Teams at Merck - Practicioners from other companies from the fields of Data & AI, HR and IT We have very limited places. 🚀Apply for your ticket here: https://lnkd.in/ejq2UNe7 #dataculture #sharingexperiences

I am beyond excited and incredibly honored to share that our GenAI-driven solution, the Investigation Work Bench (IWB), has won Merck’s Big Innovation Award 2024 at the Merck Technology Symposium! 🎉 This award recognizes a team that has implemented a long-term major innovation at Merck. Big I's represent breakthroughs that will fundamentally change how work is done across the company. This is a huge deal for me personally, and for the amazing team that I had the privilege to lead. We have been working hard for more than a year to bring something truly transformative, and this award reflects all the collective thinking and hard work we put into making it happen! So, what makes this solution so special? GenAI-Ready Data: We didn’t just solve a single problem—we built a data foundation to solve many use cases in the domain. Our solution includes the curation of a GenAI-ready data that tells the full story of pharmaceutical batch production focused on deviations. The way we integrate knowledge extracted from unstructured data (e.g. PDFs) with structured data from data warehouses is what makes it different! Business Impact: This is not tech for tech’s sake. It’s a deployed solution and delivering real business outcomes. Scalability: It is built on architecture in a way that if the user bases increase or curated data volume goes up, there is minimum degradation in performance and throughput! Transferability: The data model and architecture framework can be applied to other domains! We’ve built something that’s not just good for this use case, but the approach is adaptable for other domains and use cases. Thank you and congrats to my incredible, winning team! Hossein Salami, Brandye Smith-Goettler Jessica Dulkis Alex Seidenberg Marissa Eppes Kamil Przychodzien Marek Dvořák Many thanks to all business champions, path finders, change agents, SMEs who believed in us and supported throughout the journey! Special mention Brad Holstine! We can’t wait to take this innovation to scale and apply widely at Merck!! #GenerativeAI #AIInnovation #InnovationAward #Data #DataScience #ArtificialIntelligence #AI

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the Data Observability Summit, a four-hour event packed with incredible speakers and insightful discussions on AI, Generative AI, and the ever-evolving data landscape. One of the standout sessions was by Slavik Dimitrovich, Head of AI/ML and GenAI Specialist, who spoke on Powering Reliability for the AI Era, offering valuable insights into operationalising AI-driven products. Philip Zelitchenko, VP of Data & Analytics at ZoomInfo, captivated the audience with his talk on Transforming Data into Value. He discussed the nuances between perceived and real value and why aligning these two is key to meeting customer expectations and turning data insights into meaningful outcomes. Iwao Fusillo, Global Head of Data and Analytics Commerce at PepsiCo, shared his 4 guiding principles: 1. Engage stakeholders early and often. 2. Make value choices very clear and very explicit. 3. Ensure data readiness. 4. Focus on very small, cost-effective modules in the short term. A highlight for me was hearing from Allyson Felix, the most decorated woman in track and field history. During her pregnancy, her main sponsor cut her endorsement terms significantly and pressured her to “know your place and just run.” Facing an emergency c-section at seven months, she stood firm, advocating for herself and others. Today, as a mother of two and a successful business owner, her journey is a testament to resilience and courage. Her words resonate deeply with me and, I’m sure, with many others: "Be a change maker rather than asking somebody to do that." – Allyson Felix #AI #DataObservability #GenerativeAI #Innovation #Leadership #Inspiration #ChangeMakers

Adaapta’s new CEO, Danielle Getsinger, PG, participated in and moderated a panel at last week’s DataDotOrg Accelerate Impact Conference. She pushes the needle on brownfields by uniting the industry with the Data for Good movement. Danielle's leadership in the field and her intense focus on community engagement and data-driven solutions align perfectly with Adaapta’s mission. Keep an eye out for more exciting developments from Danielle and Adaapta in the coming days and weeks! What a week! Our announcement of our Adaapta merger happened to coincide with DataDotOrg Accelerate Impact Conference where I moderated a panel titled Bringing it All Together. This conference truly brought it all together for me, as DataDotOrg’s support has been foundational to the success of Community Lattice and has grounded our work in the data for good movement. Thank you DataDotOrg and Harvard University Data Science Initiative for putting on an incredible conference and for your unwavering dedication to building a global ecosystem of purpose and impact driven data practitioners. With special thanks to Perry Hewitt and Emma Marty for making it all look easy. I also want thank our panel for engaging in a real conversation to find common ground and establish the boundary shifts needed for accelerating the field of data and AI for social impact. To Danil Mikhailov for reminding us that people drive the data that drive the impact and we need to focus on the fundamentals of trust building and human connections. To Nelson González for inspiring us to “innovate the what and how” to build and apply advance technology WITH communities and marginalized populations. And to francesca dominici for challenging all of us to dig deeper to foster partnerships across interdisciplinary sectors to accelerate our collective capacity to address the climate crisis, public health, and social disparities on a global scale. On a final note - check out datadotorg’s newest challenge! https://lnkd.in/grT9KXiJ #datadrivesimpact #Accelerate #aidrivesimpact
