Should social media be regulated by government, industry, or individual users? Do you have 5 minutes to share your thoughts? This study is a research project of the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Human Development in cooperation with the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. We want to investigate how people think design in the digital domain should be regulated or where they would like to set their own preferences. I am asking for support as we are in immediate need of participants. The only requirement to participate is that you are over the age of 18 and currently living in Canada. If you can partake or share the survey around, I would be so grateful 🙏 (feel free to forward this post). Your support in sharing the survey would significantly contribute to our understanding of online platform preferences. If you have any questions, please email stock@mpib-berlin.mpg.de Here is the link to the survey to participate or learn more: https://lnkd.in/gnj6SAac Thank you so much!

Tim Berners-Lee https://lnkd.in/gV5yXA-h founded the www.webfoundation.org in 2009 to promote an open and accessible internet. He has just announced its closure after 15 years of operation, citing the achievement of its primary mission as global internet access has reached nearly 70%. The recent article published on the website, listed below, outlines where the future of the internet is headed...."Intention vs Attention" A new paradigm is emerging, one that places individuals’ intention rather than attention at the heart of business models, freeing us from the constraints of the established order and returning control over our data. I have mentioned this before...but everyone will have a variety of different data pods containing different types of information about them and their life that they control access to via consents. Data access controlled via consents will become a new form of currency. Power to the people. Individuals can be in control after all...

Excited to share mine and Ben Yoxley of askporter insights on dark data and its impact, especially in the realm of #SocialHousing in the latest edition of Housing Technology magazine (page 53-54). From experience of working with Social Housing organisation's, there's an enormous amount of valuable data out there that often goes unrecognised and untapped. This "dark data" holds the potential to improve decision-making, resource allocation, and overall service delivery within the social housing sector. Leveraging dark data can: Enhance decision-making with comprehensive insights Improve maintenance and resource allocation Boost tenant satisfaction through proactive service Inform more effective housing policies There are also some other great articles in the magazine about data in the Social Housing sector. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ev322pc6 #DataAnalytics #HousingTechnology #DataDrivenDecisions #Innovation #SocialImpact
