I'm done with Github. I'm unhappy that I have few days of unpaid work ahead of me. Next is de-microsofting and de-openai'ing everything I touch. Why? Simple. It's fine to use ChatGPT(or any other LLM) for anything when there is a "human" in between. This feature now tries to remove the "human review" from the process and it's going to lit up tons of fireworks that I'd gladly watch. Let's see why; - It's fine to try to learn how to build a bridge by asking LLM's. It will be a disaster to try to build a bridge without a civil engineer. - It's kind of fine to use an LLM to try to understand some symptoms you have. It will be a disaster to apply the "solutions" it suggest you without asking any professional. - It's fine to ask an LLM about how to make fireworks. It will be a disaster to try to follow those recipes. - It's fine to ask an LLM about how to fly an Airbus A320 Neo. It will be a disaster to try to fly it with those instructions. and, - It's fine to try to get help for your programming questions from an LLM. It's fine to try exploring some ideas about your architecture etc. It will be a disaster to connect an LLM to most critical components of your infrastructure. In other words, "The sales and marketing people—they were the ones that got promoted, they were the ones that ran the company." It's a shame.
