To help them acclimate to campus life, all incoming Stonehill College students are required to take a one-credit “First-Year Experience (FYE)” course during their first semester. Volunteer faculty, staff and returning students facilitate this class. We recently asked this year’s FYE facilitators to offer their best advice on studying, figuring out the best career fit, and making friends in college.  “Accept change, confusion and new experiences,” Michael Sheehan ’25 said. “It’s completely normal to not be quite sure what you want to do. My best recommendation is to say ‘yes’ to classes or experiences outside your major. Stonehill College has been recognized again this year by The Wall Street Journal for the value it provides students, especially in the areas of career preparation and character development. In the news outlet’s recently released best colleges survey, the College ranked among the top 13 schools in Massachusetts. In terms of student outcomes, the College received a salary impact score of 87 out of 100, an increase over last year’s score. Based on student survey results, the College scored higher this year across all areas of focus including learning opportunities, preparation for career, and learning facilities. In the category of character development, a measure introduced this year, Stonehill earned a high score of 79.
