The Evans companies are populated with wonderful, professional, caring, and hard-working people. Ask anyone who works there. You don’t get to stay in business for 75 years by treating people poorly, ignoring your customers, or doing shoddy workmanship. If the opportunity fits you and it’s time to make a move, you might want to give them a call. Great places to work are hard to come by #qualitycontrol #qualityassurance #toolanddie #metalstamping #lasercutting #manufacturing

You can usually tell if a quality control inspector is a fraud by asking them just a few questions… That’s because the majority of self-professed “inspectors” aren’t qualified to do their job. Most organizations that offer inspections don’t understand the nuances and technicalities of running an effective quality control examination. Hiring a quality control inspector is like hiring an accountant to do your taxes — The more unqualified they are, the greater the risk of catastrophic loss. That’s why it’s crucial to hire an experienced inspector. This begs the difficult question: How do you find the right inspector for your product and your brand? My advice: Shop around and get really specific. Here’s what I mean. When most consumer brands begin looking for manufacturing partners overseas, they’ll receive offers from sourcing agents and freight forwarders to provide QC services. It’s common for brand owners to simply accept the first offer they receive. This is a mistake. Not all inspection services are built the same. And, a great QC service should have a deep understanding of AQL methodology, sample sizes, and specific product tests. So, to determine if a quality control inspector is the right fit for your brand, ask them these questions: 1. What are your sampling standards? Do you use Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL), ISO 2859, or ISO 9001? 2. Can you explain your process for determining sample sizes across different test types? 3. How do you construct your checklists? Are they category-specific or product-specific? 4. Do you have a quality control engineer on your team? 5. Does this quality control engineer have experience in my product category? Here are my personal requirements for hiring a QC inspector on the spot: - They can provide details about their quality control methodology - They employ a quality control engineer - They have experience in my product category If your QC inspector checks these three boxes, hire them — There are very few companies that can actually do this. It’s why our team at Movley is working so hard to modernize the entire inspection process. If you want to learn more about the delicate art of finding a QC inspector who actually knows what they’re doing… shoot me a message! I’d love to help out.

We don't have a talent shortage. We have an HR problem. These are two different roles rolled into one: - Visiting clients for all our new projects with the objective of selling a secondary project - Conducting project inspections to assess progress and identify potential issues or obstacles, promptly reporting them to the appropriate parties Here's some food for thought: - If the initial consultation was done correctly, you wouldn't need to go back for the upsell. - A sales rep is there to add to the profit line - An inspection is there to ensure the project is completed properly Focus on finding an excellent seller/closer at the start. Then hire an inspector to ensure you have quality projects. This sales rep x project manager inspector unicorn does not exist.

Michigan LARA / CRA It’s ridiculous enough that we have to submit a form and agreement to you everytime we land a new client…. But y’all really need to figure out your plan with manufacturing agreements. It’s clear your team has no clue what they are doing, and the directives they have been provided are not effective. They can’t tell the difference between a simple manufacturing agreement, and a licensing agreement. They are asking us to add amendments to contract that blantantly do not apply to the partnership, and simply do not make sense once included. Maybe it’s time stop hiring cops…. And start hiring people with business and supply chain experience. It’s absolutely embarrassing how little your front line team understands about the market they are tasked to regulate. Just FYI you might want to pass on to your team since they clearly don’t understand basic business principles: the terms ‘licensee’ and ‘licensor’ only apply to (you guessed it) licensing agreements! For simple manufacturing/ processessing agreements, these terms do not apply. Brian Hanna - stop wasting our time with these useless form submissions that your team doesn’t even have the skills or experience to manage. If you and your team can’t figure out from METRC which facility is doing business with which facility… maybe all your forensic accountant cops aren’t that good at their jobs? I shouldn’t have to tell you when I land a new co-packing client. I shouldn’t have to tell you when I buy a new air compressor. But if you’re going to make me, at least do it efficiently, with a competent staff, who actually has business experience.
