Recently, one of our System Changer Network Kenya (SCN Kenya) partners, VICCO, an NGO active in Nairobi’s slum areas, was featured in a citizen network newspaper in Finland advocating for community free spaces.
We are very much interested to connect more with Media in and out of the country as a SCN member Kenya and to share about the innovative approaches we are taking.
What is the SCN Kenya?
It is a “network of trust” with an ambitious vision: we believe that together we can achieve more than what single NGOs or organizations can achieve to combat poverty. Simply, because the basic needs, such as water, energy, health, mobility, business and digital skills, infrastructures, education, environmental issues can not be handled by one player alone. But projects-as mostly done – today, have one focus and target group only. We believe you can’t just run women projects without doing projects for men, too, nutrition projects are not good enough without covering water issues in parallel, education needs to include also good business and digital knowledge,

That’s why we have built strategic structures of exchange of skills and solutions, collaborate with innovate ideas of social enterprises from all over the world, are organized in a manageable (not too big) network of 9 Kenyan NGO partners, and put together our diverse approaches. Simply, because a farmer or slum habitant is not just a farmer or slum habitant, but needs also to cover many other basic needs
