You’d be shocked by how many properties have non-compliant wall cavities and penetrations! It really isn't that complicated to fix—if you know what you're doing. Get it sorted for your own compliance, but more importantly, for the safety of your residents. The consequences of ignoring these issues are simply too grave to ignore. Please could you provide more information? If its non compliant, why ?
Some relevant points on here , some not so relevant. There is no seal to the head of wall, but again we don't know what is on the other side? Generally speaking , we ask our operatives NOT to "paint" the fixings so you can identify the correct spacings for the patress. Also there is nothing saying you cannot use HPE around armoured cables, especially when grouped with other cables , forming a cable bunch
Building is already lost before that becomes an issue.
Dont want graphite on a armoured cable. Nothing wrong with that stop tho
Do u know who installed it? Swear down its something i have done 4 years ago. Fire stoppers diary's lol
Barry, You criticised this picture, but didn’t mention the reasoning. For all concerned and those of us who can’t see anything immediately wrong, please do explain. Thanks in advance.
doesnt look bad to me I have seen a lot worse
So is that fire stop correct or not Barry? Whats the name of the product manufacturer and fire rating of the wall?
Barry Lobenstein The “know what your doing”is extremely complicated and not very common 😉

4moSome more context would be helpful. Are you saying the fire-stopping in your image is non-compliant? Steel stud partition? 60-minutes EI? It looks like a concrete slab; no deflection has been built into the partition. Is the service support missing within proximity to the fire stop? I cannot see any in the image provided. Most testing with the likes of Quelfire is up to 300mm. That’s a reasonable dimension to work with unless the manufacturer can be identified to use their specific tested requirements.
