Imagine a grand old ballroom, rich with history and resplendent with glittering chandeliers. As the orchestra plays a familiar, yet bewildering tune, the dancers split into two rival halls. On the left, a cluster of Democrats is learning complex, avant-garde moves, elegantly twisting themselves into knots. On the right, a group of Republicans abandon intricate steps for spirited clog dancing, enthusiastically thumping to the beat of populism. Now, imagine the perplexed faces of ordinary observers, who just wanted to enjoy a tranquil evening of stately waltz. Imagine them bewildered, as the two sides tug away at the shared dance floor, ripping it in half with a resounding crack. What does this result in? A series of missteps, twisted ankles, and more than a few flattened toes. The once grand ballroom now echoes with the chaotic flailing of dancers so focused on their separate routines that they forget to listen to the music. So, it begs pondering: When will these determined dancers fling away the choreography and shake hands for a coherent pas de deux? - Will the Democrats, in their pursuit of complexity, trip over the folds of their flowing gowns? - Will the Republicans, with their fervent stomps, send the dance floor splintering under heavy footsteps? Let's tie our observation back to an essential truth: When vision is blurred by extremities and ideology overshadow practicality, the dance becomes a riotous stumble. Commentary suggests that embracing either extreme —listening to a discordant band— only ensures one sordid reality: a poor, tattered ballroom where no dancer thrives. As jokes about bipartisanship fall weakly among the confused spectators, a wise man in a corner hums: In politics, as in dance, rhythm and cooperation create the beauty that unilateral movements cannot. But as we peer deeper, the problem appears not in intransigent extremism, but in the abandonment of synergy. A reflective pause will reveal a diverse orchestra, capable of harmonizing various instruments if only the conductor could earn their trust. The pressing question remains: with America as the dance floor, do they prefer coherence or tumult? Guns N' Roses, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, The Smashing Pumpkins. What do all these bands have in common? Sure, they were all global successes, no doubt about it. But there's an aspect that puts them all in the same group. At their peak, key members were replaced or added. And those bands have never been the same since. It didn't matter how great the new musicians were; they simply didn't fit, as the bands' core identity got diluted. On the other hand, when Ronnie Wood replaced Mick Taylor, he revitalised The Rolling Stones and rejuvenated their sound. Something similar happened to the Foo Fighters when they added Pat Smear. He brought a new level of energy, contributing to some of the band's most critically acclaimed recordings. Neither The Rolling Stones nor Foo Fighters have ever got lost in their identity. If preserving the culture makes such an impact in "small organisations" like bands, imagine what it does on a larger scale. The addition of a new member can lift or break a business's momentum. Just like what happened to these bands, the ability (or inability) to preserve their culture is what will determine their chance to replicate earlier successes or lose traction and relevancy. 🎶🎸Wish you were here… I was part of the dramatic society in college, where discussing plays and short stories threadbare was our intellectual stimulation. There was something electric about those debates, the way we dissected the works of Jean-Paul Sartre and Saadat Hasan Manto. And of course, there was music to feed our brains as well—one of my favorite bands, Pink Floyd. "Wish You Were Here" was the anthem of our reflective moments, while "Another Brick in the Wall" had us singing with our lungs bursting, defying everything that felt confining or conventional. But here’s a little-known story about Pink Floyd that always stuck with me. Before they became the iconic band that still makes hearts throb with their eternal music, they were known as "The Tea Set." It wasn’t until they entered a competition that a sudden twist changed everything. Imagine the scene… A band, ready to perform, finds out another group with the exact same name is also competing. Panic? Perhaps. But what followed was a moment of pure, quick-thinking creativity. Syd Barrett, their frontman, didn’t have time to deliberate. He drew inspiration from two blues musicians he admired—Pink Anderson and Floyd Council, both masters of their craft in the genre that would later influence so many greats. Pink and Floyd were artists who lived their lives in the rhythm and blues of the American South, crafting songs that were raw, real, and deeply human. Their names, fused together in a moment of necessity, became a symbol of timeless artistry. It’s funny how a name born out of necessity can end up defining something so eternal. Pink Floyd—born from a fleeting moment, now a legend! This story always makes me wonder… What makes someone or something story-worthy? Who do we look to for inspiration when we’re forging our own paths? The truth is, few people or moments inspire the kind of remembrance that lives on, but those who do often guide us in choosing our destiny, just as Pink Anderson and Floyd Council did for Syd Barrett. So, can we become story-worthy? Can we inspire others in a way that lasts? It’s a question worth pondering. Ever had a moment like that? One that changed everything? MADONNA IS BEING SUED BY FANS FOR STARTING HER CONCERT TOO LATE. Madonna, Rihanna, Guns N’ Roses, and Lauryn Hill all have something in common. Reputations for starting their concerts late – sometimes by hours. And fans have had enough. Two New York fans initiated a lawsuit against the Material Girl. Their claim is that the 2 hour delay impacted their safety as the concert let out at 1:00 am, and also caused them to be less functional at work the next day. Let’s set aside the legalities. There is a bigger issue, and it is one that many business owners and professionals are also guilty of. And that is making customers wait. Not a few minutes, but hours or in some cases days. I recently had a medical specialist cancel on me a few days prior to an appointment I had booked a month ago. When the receptionist called me to reschedule, the earliest date was mid March. I would have hoped the doctor would be more accommodating. Maybe even staying late one day to see me. Anyone who’s waited on a Zoom call knows what it feels like when someone is late. Especially when the other person can’t use the excuse of being stuck in traffic. Being late happens. Sometimes things are beyond our control. But when it becomes a habit, what’s really being said is “I don’t care about your time.” Which is a roundabout way of saying “I don’t care about you.” Try not to be late. But if you are, call, text, or email to let them know. And it doesn’t count if you do it just as the meeting is about to start. What’s important to remember is that being late is not the problem. It’s making customers (and people in general) feel they are not important. People feel important when they receive positive attention. When done right, letting them know of changes or delays counts as positive attention. And when customers feel they are important, they will be more loyal. #litigation #lawsuit

The way fans have embraced Post Malone's foray into country music is a great example of how many long-standing walls of genre delineation are being broken down today. Alongside the popularity of genre-fluid playlists such as "POLLEN" and Lorem," the success of this track demonstrates that fans are more open-minded than ever to new sonic textures -- they just want to FEEL a certain way. Music is becoming less and less about genre, and more and more about MOOD. Meanwhile, a swarm of up-and-coming independents are releasing music that is nearly impossible to classify into one particular genre. I consider this a victory for artists and producers, as a broader range of the palette becomes available, allowing them to paint their story in richer, more vibrant color than ever. One thing that has not changed in Posty's whole career--the dude (and his team) write really, really good songs. Structurally, lyrically, visually, and emotionally appealing. Hello people! How are you doing, I hope well! Today, I'm going to share with you a song, and the things that I think are remarkable, and made the song beautiful. First: The drum beat. I think this drum beat pattern is known to everyone, but that doesn't make it any less beautiful. It works perfectly, it makes you feel in the rhythm almost immediately, and, in this particular one, it has slight changes that make it more interesting. Plus, it has those little low volume handclaps that add texture. Second: The bass line and the chord progression. The chord progression of the song is incredible. It's a classic. A guarantee. The bass line combines perfectly with the keyboards that work as a 'cloudy' vibe, and gives the song that powerful sense of rhythm, that makes you feel always in the box. Third : The voice and its melody. The singer is amazing. He enters the song with his low vocal palette that sits perfectly in the mix. Also, it works great in that first part of the song. He leaves room to add power and volume in the following parts. Fourth : The structure of the song. This part is always very important. In this case the song has something that sometimes makes things easier, but sometimes more challenging, and that is that beautiful chord progression. Sometimes, it's hard to make a song dynamic when you want to repeat the chord progression throughout the song. But this time it works perfectly. It's something remarkable in the song. And, when that happens, I think it's always a "hit move" in a song.  I think the key in this case is the dynamics that the singer puts into his voice, giving a more powerful volume in the chorus, and a repetitive pattern of melody. Also, there's a movement just before entering the chorus, which is cool... If you notice, in the last part before the chorus, there is a BIG rhythmic movement that takes the song to something very similar to a Reggaeton beat, but it sounds totally different because of the aesthetic choice of the song. Great movement. This gives you a 'floor feel' when the chorus comes in. Very good. I could talk about songs and their aesthetics all day but, I think that takes all the fun out of it, haha! U.S. chart and Billboard Global 200 is *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye,” new at Nos. 16 and 18, respectively. The song with the biggest weekly increase in overall consumption – the Greatest Gainer – is the Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris,” up more than 30 spots on each list, hitting new peaks of Nos. 55 and 58. Why are these songs, both chart-toppers upon their original releases a quarter-century ago, surging worldwide? Both tracks are featured in Disney’s Deadpool & Wolverine, the biggest movie in the world. The superhero flick has brought in $852.1 million since its July 26 release, according to Box Office Mojo, becoming the year’s second highest-grossing film in a matter of 11 days. The film and its soundtrack are drenched in catalog songs, employing classic hits from the 80s, 90s and 2000s to juice its nostalgic appeal. “Bye Bye Bye” debuts on the back of 35.8 million streams and 5,000 downloads sold worldwide in the week ending Aug. 1, according to Luminate. From the previous week, before the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, those numbers mark an 879% increase in global streams, and a more than 1,000% increase in sales. While consumption is up across the board, “Bye Bye Bye” sees bigger gains internationally, up 1,083% in non-U.S. streams compared to its still-massive 494% bump stateside. The song pops up on four of Billboard’s Hits of the World charts. It’s particularly strong in Asia, at No. 7 on Malaysia Songs with appearances on rankings for Hong Kong and Singapore. Additionally, it debuts at No. 16 on Peru Songs. This is *NSYNC’s third appearance on the Global 200, following their perennial holiday-season run for “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays,” and last year’s reunion track, “Better Place.” Those have reached as high as Nos. 97 and 128, respectively, immediately outpaced by the group’s Total Request Live-era classic. “Bye Bye Bye” topped the Pop Airplay tally for 10 weeks in the spring of 2000. \(Billboard’s global charts launched in 2020\). The Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris” crowned the same list for four weeks in July and August of 1998.
