🚨 Market Update: Impact of Recent BASF Incident on Vitamin A and E Supply Chain Preliminary reports indicate that the recent explosion did not directly affect BASF's Vitamin A and E production facilities, which are located separately from the southern area of the factory where the explosion occurred. BASF is prioritizing the repair of critical production facilities, with recovery expected to take several months. Before this incident some major factories in China have already suspended their quotations, we expect this to further increase pricing in the market. Check with your suppliers to secure your demands and ensure a stable supply chain. #SupplyChain #VitaminA #VitaminE #BASF #MarketUpdate #Procurement

Market Update: Synthetic Vitamin E As of March, factories have resumed quoting prices for food-grade synthetic Vitamin E (VE), with a small 2% increase. Despite this price adjustment, the market continues to experience supply exceeding demand, as the current demand for food-grade synthetic VE remains relatively stagnant. Looking ahead, future price changes will largely depend on market demand feedback. However, it's important to note that recent small fires at a major producer's facility may influence pricing in the coming months. Stay tuned for more updates as the market evolves. #VitaminE #MarketUpdate #SupplyChain #Vitamins #Supplements

BASF explosion: Company says it cannot rule out delays or disruption to vitamin A and E supply. https://lnkd.in/d9VajByS Commenting on the aftermath of the incident, Stefan Schmidinger, head of market intelligence at Swiss data provider Kemiex, said the situation for vitamin A, E, and carotenoids remains highly dynamic, with price discovery being hampered by a lack of liquidity as major market players adopt a wait-and-see approach. “Few suppliers are offering actively, and opportunistic spot offers for smaller quantities of vitamin E and vitamin A could reach price levels of about 30-60% above those in July, or even higher," he noted. "This morning, customers in China reported a notable increase in ask prices, with feed-grade vitamin E 50% priced north of US$18 and vitamin A around US$40, although transaction prices tend to be lower still." Schmidinger added: "The prevailing view from buyers’ scenario planning is that this is a serious short-term issue, perhaps worse than the ZMC accident in April, although it is not affecting their immediate coverage. While repercussions on the scale of the major Citral incident in 2017 are not anticipated as the base case, stakeholders are closely monitoring new developments. All eyes are on BASF and further updates regarding its ability to supply." #BASF #VitaminE #VitaminA #SupplyChain #IndustryUpdate

#VitaminD3: The market remains hot, with European market quotations at 18-21 euros/kg. D3 is another product that has gone crazy in just two weeks. When the actual transaction price in Europe was still 8.50 euros/kg, a European trader suddenly quoted 18.5 euros/kg during the CPHI exhibition, while another Chinese producer quoted 12 euros/kg. The reason for the sudden sharp price increase is said to be a shortage of goods in Europe. #VitaminE: Both market quotations and transaction prices have risen steadily, and inquiries and transactions are active. The vitamin E production line of NHU is scheduled to start maintenance from early July, lasting 8-9 weeks. Zhejiang Medicine Vitamin E production line plans to stop production for maintenance for 2 months from mid-July. Beisha Pharmaceutical Vitamin E production line plans to stop production for maintenance for 8-10 weeks from the end of August. #VitaminK3: The supply of upstream raw materials is tight and the price is strong, and the market price of K3 is rising. Mainstream manufacturers have stopped reporting and signing, and the market inquiry is active. #DCP: Sulfuric acid manufacturers in the raw material market raised the price, forming cost support for the price of DCP. The supply-side manufacturers' quotations remain stable, and they are willing to support prices. Downstream feed companies maintain rigid demand to replenish inventory, and market transactions are general.
