Here is an excellent paper by Bischoff et al concerning the formation of reservoirs within crystalline rocks. Crystalline rocks??!?? Yes, because one of the last great frontiers of Saskatchewan’s resource sector is the deep “basement”. What would be the resource? 21st century stuff like geothermal heat, helium, primordial hydrogen, lithium, uranium… Over the past decade there has been a burst of deep “basement” holes drilled, mainly in the southwest for helium and near Estevan for geothermal heat.
