Appreciating It All at Work In the whirlwind of our workdays, it’s easy to miss the little joys and the big wins. But taking a moment to appreciate everything in between can make a world of difference! Think about the small things: a friendly “good morning” from a coworker, a funny meme shared during breaks, or that lunch invitation with your colleagues waiting for you to finished writing your email just so you all can go to lunch together. These little moments can brighten our day and create a sense of camaraderie that keeps us motivated. Then there are the big achievements 😎 Finishing a tough project, hitting a team goal, or even landing that dream client. Celebrating these milestones together is so important! They remind us of our hard work and the awesome teamwork that got us there. When we cherish both the small and big moments, we create a vibrant work environment where everyone feels valued. It’s about finding joy in the everyday and celebrating the journey together. So let’s take a moment to appreciate it all. The small wins, the big triumphs, and everything in between. Here are some everyday wins we often neglect to appreciate: Taking care of your physical well being even during a busy time. Finishing key small steps on the way to a much larger project. Protecting a boundary by saying “No” to a request that does not align with your goals and values. Doing something that scares you, choosing growth over fear. Carving out time for self care or hobbies even during busy seasons. Create a list of your wins that you can go back to and reference when you go through challenges. I don’t usually post much here, but I wanted to share some thoughts from my first week at Bellway. It’s Friday night, and I’m sat here thinking about work (in a good way!). It’s only been a week, but I already feel like I belong. Here are a few things that have stood out to me: Flexibility – The hours are flexible, which is a game-changer for me. Those who know me well know how much I love skating 3-4 times a week. With an early start, I can finish early and still make time for the things I’m passionate about. Perks & Rewards – From discounts on various services to other employee perks, the rewards are fantastic. But what truly stands out is the people. I’ve wrapped up my first week feeling genuinely happy and welcomed. There's a lot to learn before Sammie goes on maternity leave, but I know I’m in good hands. Fridays past and present. Years apart but purpose is the same: work to live, not the other way around. Friday mornings, February 1989? Planning for happy hour at Zeno's in State College. A pitcher of beer for a buck was a great way to exhale after a long week of studies. Friday mornings, February 2024? Planning to complete client CMO assignments. Hitting deadlines and deliverables is a great way to exhale after a long week of fulfilling your promises. Mixing 1989 and 2024? Blending work with fun. Blending life with career. Now that RPM Office Appreciation Week 2024 has come to an end and I put this collage together, it makes me smile ... Seeing my team's excitement and anticipation for what each day offers, it's motivating and inspiring! We are encouraged and expected by our employer to take some time to celebrate our hard work and accomplishments together as a team! Stopping to have lunch together and play silly games or receiving our favorite coffee or taco... It's not about the smoothie or the pizza, it's the thoughts that are put into the week that count. It's about feeling the appreciation for all that your team does, and most importantly to me - it's about watching how those little things can help build morale and positivity amongst the office team - which spreads on to the maintenance team, residents, vendors, and ultimately into their personal lives! .... Wow Thank you RPM for acknowledging the front line and allowing us the time to celebrate our wins with each other! Showing your appreciation was a wonderful way to spend our work week! It added more value than may be known! I am beyond proud of the office team we have! I am grateful to work for a company that allows me to build my team based on our vision and goals for the property. Hiring people smarter than me is always helpful! 😁 They are success and results driven and have done great things over the past 90 days! I am proud and grateful for them everyday! As leaders, we are only as great and ultimately successful as our team we hire and invest in! We strive to hire the best and want to keep them happy and motivated! I acknowledge them often! They are recognized for their wins and supported by us as Community Managers, but it's amazing to watch how much positivity and value it brings to an onsite team member when they are recognized from our upper leadership! To all my Corporate leaders, remember how powerful your "good job" can be for our onsite staff! It's incredible the difference y'all can make! So the next time you reply to an email recognizing a small or big win or to say thank you, please try to include the team or the team member who helped contribute to the win! It’s Employee Appreciation Day and Rising Phoenix wants to show some appreciation to our hard-working drivers and office staff, without them we’d be in a different spot. Our employees' dedication shows in every aspect of their jobs regardless of what’s happening. Vickie: A veteran of transportation, piloting for 7yrs and a truck driver before that. Willful and dedicated, she has a handful of customers that request her on their moves because of her consistency. Lindsay: working on her 2nd year with Rising Phoenix , she’s a natural. Receptive, ambitious and cheerful. Shes always looking for something new to learn and conquer. Austin: newest member of the team but he too is a natural. When greeted with a new task he is inquisitive, thorough and capable. Olivia: She handles the nitty-gritty behind the scenes tasks making sure the company is compliant in every aspect imaginable! If it’s office related you can guarantee she’s had her hands in it. Forward-thinking - she sees opportunities and then implements practices to better our company. Trent: Ambitious, headstrong and passionate about technology. He handles the company’s technical aspects; such as remote accessing tablets to update systems and thinking of ways to make our drivers life’s easier and more efficient. Again, it’s only because of our employees, past and present that we have been able to meet and exceed companies goals, build long-term relationships with customers and continually to improve our services!
