QA and R&D quality assurance is an essential part of any research and development project. It ensures that the products or services you deliver meet the specifications, standards, and expectations of your customers and stakeholders. However, QA in R&D can also be challenging, as you may face uncertainty, complexity, and novelty in your work. Define the scope and goals: Before you start any R&D project, you need to define the scope and goals of your QA activities. What are the requirements, criteria, and metrics that you will use to evaluate your outputs? Who are the end-users, customers, or beneficiaries of your project? How will you communicate and collaborate with them throughout the process? Plan and document your QA process: you need to plan and document your QA process. How will you conduct your QA activīties, such as testing, validation, verification, review, or audit? What tools, methods, and standards will you use? Who will be responsible for each QA task and how will you assign roles and responsibilities? How will you document your QA results, feedback, and actions? By planning and documenting your QA process, you can ensure its consistency, transparency, and traceability. Collaborate and communicate with your QA team: QA in R&D is not a solo activity. It involves working with a team of people who have different skills, perspectives, and expectations. By collaborating and communicating with your QA team, you can foster a positive, productive, and supportive QA culture, Learn and innovate from your QA experience: QA in R&D is not a static activity. It is a dynamic and iterative process that allows you to learn and innovate from your experience. How will you reflect on your QA process and outcomes? How will you capture and share your knowledgeand best practices? How will you apply your learning to improve your future R&D projects and QA activities? How will you leverage your QA experience to generate new ideas, solutions, or opportunities? By learning and innovating from your QA experience, you can advance your R&D capabilities and competitiveness. #r&d #qa #quality #qualitymanagement #qualitycontrol #foodindustry #QualityAssurance #foodsafety #foodsafetymanagementsystem #foodsafetymanagement #FoodandBeverageProducts #FoodandBeverageManagement #safety #foodhygiene #foodhazard #foodscience #foodproduction #processor #iso #riskanalysis #analysis #planning #foodbusiness #foodproduction #foodandbeverageindustry #hazard #riskmanagement #gmp #tqm #foodprocessing #foodindustry #foodproduction #isocertification #isostandard #isostandards

‼️LABORATORY QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LQMS)‼️ Assessment— external quality assessment 💠Overview💠 #Assessment is a critical aspect of #laboratoryqualitymanagement, and it can be conducted in several ways. One of the commonly employed assessment methods is that of #externalqualityassessment (#EQA). 💠External Quality Assessment 💠 ‼️The term #EQA is used to describe a method that allows for comparison of a laboratory’s #testing to a source outside the #laboratory. ‼️This comparison can be made to the #performance of a peer group of laboratories or to the performance of a #referencelaboratory. ‼️The term EQA is sometimes used interchangeably with #proficiencytesting; however, EQA can also be carried out using other processes. 💠DEFINITION 💠 EQA is defined as a system for objectively checking the laboratory’s performance using an external agency or facility. 💠METHODS 💠 Several EQA methods or processes are commonly used. These include: 1️⃣Proficiency testing—external provider sends unknown samples for testing to a set of laboratories, and the results of all laboratories are analyzed, compared and reported to the laboratories. 2️⃣ Rechecking or retesting—slides that have been read are rechecked by a reference laboratory; samples that have been analyzed are retested, allowing for interlaboratory comparison. 3️⃣ On-site evaluation—usually done when it is difficult to conduct traditional proficiency testing or to use the rechecking/retesting method. 4️⃣ Another method of interlaboratory comparison is the #exchangeofsamples among a set of laboratories, usually reserved for specialized tests for which no proficiency testing is available. 💠EQA benefits💠 Participation in an EQA programme provides valuable data and information, which: ✅ allows comparison of performance and results among different test sites; ✅ provides early warning for systematic problems associated with kits or operations; ✅ provides objective evidence of testing quality; ✅ indicates areas that need improvement; ✅ identifies training needs. EQA participation will help to evaluate reliability of methods, materials and equipment, and to evaluate and monitor training impact. EQA participation creates a network for communication, and can be a good tool for enhancing a national laboratory network. 💠Principal characteristics of an EQA scheme💠 EQA programmes vary, but principal characteristics include the following: ✅ EQA programmes can either be free of charge or require a fee. ✅ Some EQA programmes are obligatory, others are voluntary. ✅ The EQA programme can be organized at different levels: regional, national or international. ✅ Individual laboratory results are kept confidential, and generally are only known by the participating laboratory and the EQA provider. ✅ Some EQA schemes may address a single disease. Others may address many kinds of laboratory tests. If you like this post follow me on LinkedIn

Quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) are two aspects of quality management, often used interchangeably but with distinct roles: 1. **Quality Assurance (QA):** - QA focuses on preventing defects in the process used to make products. It's a proactive approach aimed at ensuring that the processes and methodologies are followed throughout the product development lifecycle. - QA involves activities such as process definition and implementation, auditing, training, and setting up standards. Its goal is to improve development and test processes to prevent defects and ensure the highest #quality of the product. 2. **Quality Control (QC):** - QC, on the other hand, is reactive and focuses on identifying defects in the finished product. It involves activities such as testing, inspecting, and reviewing products to ensure they meet specified requirements and standards. - QC aims to detect and correct defects in the finished product before it reaches the #customer, thus ensuring the quality of the product. 3. **Research and Development (R&D):** - R&D is a broader concept that involves activities undertaken by organizations to innovate, introduce new products, or improve existing ones. It encompasses both basic research and applied #research, as well as #development activities. - R&D involves exploring new ideas, conducting experiments, developing prototypes, and refining products or processes. Its goal is to create value through innovation and continuous improvement. #qualitycontrol #qualityassurance #haccp #iso22000 #iso9001 #qms #foodsafety #foodscience #foodblogger #researchanddevelopment #fssc22000 #compliancemanagement #compliance #production #meatindustry #cereal #dairy #baking #foodandbeverages .............Ammar Rasheed Ahmed...............

Why have you not been considered for the QA manager (QM) job? Having put in a good number of years, maybe as a quality analyst, supervisor, or junior manager it is expected that you have the required experience to be the QM but you are not entitled. However, when the opportunity comes, management still decides to recruit from outside, surprisingly recruiting someone without experience in your process. There are many written and unwritten reasons why you may not be the next QA manager for your facility. What is your skill set like? it should go beyond sampling and testing, documentation, and yelling at whoever opposes your opinion, which are difficult to manage by other colleagues. On the days you acted in the stead of your QA manager how did you fare? Did you get good feedback from your manager or other HODs? How do you present your points or arguments in meetings? What does your current manager think about your ability to lead a team? Have you checked comments about you and your work rate during calibrations? Do you have the charm of visibility or you are just a noise maker? How is your relationship with your colleagues from other functions? What can other HODs say about your leadership, problem-solving, communication, and passion for the job? What does your team think about you? Remember, as a QA manager, you are seen as someone with a helicopter view of the business, you do not reason, think, or make a decision like a technician or analyst would. There should be a clear difference in the quality of decisions, approach to issue management, and relationship with other cross-functional colleagues. It would help if you had the resilience to withstand pressure mentally and emotionally. You should be ready to succeed with or without 100% support from either management or colleagues. In the face of adversity, are you allowing your emotions and emotional words from your direct reports to push you around, or do you apply the risk-based thinking approach to manage issues? What is your carriage and charisma like? How do you email other colleagues, especially when there is an issue? Are you seen as someone who pushes blame, nags, or slanders your team members in front of people? Are you seen as someone who raises her voice like a trader at the ''ogbete'' market? There are a lot of questions already begging for answers, so it is up to you to check how to be a better colleague, make wise decisions, collaborate and align with other colleagues, and have the mindset that you need to work with other colleagues, to achieve your results. Look at yourself in the mirror and ask if you would allow yourself to lead you. You be have to work on yourself, re-brand, re-skill, reflect, rise above emotions and be an inspiration to others. Hey sometimes you have to seek for QA manager Jobs elsewhere; it doesn't have to be in your facility. The algorithm for career growth has moved from days of spending so many years expecting to be the QA head. Author-Osagie iboi MSc

Quality assurance is a broad process for preventing quality failures. The QA team is involved in all stages of a product's development: production, testing, packaging, and delivery. In contrast, quality control (QC) is a narrower process. QC focuses on detecting mistakes, errors, or missed requirements in a product. . . . What is the role of #QA? Quality assurance, or QA, roles are positions responsible for creating and running tests, identifying errors and providing feedback to ensure a final product meets a company's quality standards. . . #qualityleads #qualityassurance #chemistry #pharmaceuticalindustry #chemicalindustry #qualityfirst

Title: Quality Control vs Quality Assurance: Understanding the Difference In the pursuit of excellence, two terms are often used interchangeably: Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA). However, they have distinct meanings and roles in ensuring the quality of products or services. Quality Control (QC): - Focuses on identifying and correcting defects or issues in the product or service - Involves inspection, testing, and validation of outputs - Ensures compliance with specifications and standards - Reactive approach: finds and fixes problems after they occur Quality Assurance (QA): - Focuses on preventing defects or issues from occurring in the first place - Involves planning, designing, and implementing processes and procedures - Ensures compliance with regulations, standards, and industry best practices - Proactive approach: anticipates and mitigates potential problems In summary, Quality Control checks for defects, while Quality Assurance prevents them from happening. Both are crucial for delivering high-quality products and services. #FMCG #Foodsafety #QualityControl #QualityAssurance #QualityMatters #ProcessExcellence #Productivity #foodtechnologist #foodtechnology #Copied...!!!
