Dr. Hugh Robertson the chair of the Scientific & Technical Review Panel, highlights that one of the crucial tasks for this year is collating information on the impacts of climate change on our wetland ecosystem. A range of publications on wetlands and climate change have been prepared by the Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP) of the Convention. These provide: 🌐 policy recommendations for managing peatlands and blue carbon ecosystems to mitigate climate change; 🌐 best practices on wise use and restoration of peatland ecosystems; and 🌐 information on extent and carbon storage capabilities of blue carbon ecosystems in Wetlands of International Importance. "Embracing the ambiguity: Tracing climate response diversity in urban water management" by Aaron Deslatte, Elizabeth Koebele & Adam Wiechman examines the diverse potential responses required to address climate change. Using the Institutional Grammar and Institutional Network Analysis tools to empirically trace the rate-making processes in two U.S. urban water utilities, the study shows how institutional designs influence response diversity. The analysis also highlights the critical role of public managers in tackling climate change, especially as they navigate the diversity of potential responses to climate change.
