You’re a college student gearing up for summer classes, doing an internship, or working a part-time job, so you’ve definitely got stuff to do now that spring semester is over. But what about the extra free time you have in the summer that you don’t have during the fall and spring semesters? Instead of playing video games or binge-watching TV, why not read a classic book, listen to a different genre of music, visit an art museum, take a yoga class, or try a new recipe? Here are a few suggestions of ways to relax and recharge this summer: bit.ly/4bRwC7k. Alumni – what were some of your favorite ways to relax after a long semester?

How is cement made? Find out in this video by TXST- Concrete Industry Management student Joseph Grout!
I made a video tour of the HolcimUS Ste. Genevieve cement plant. During the second week of my internship, we spent the entire week touring the facility. You might have seen my post about it at the time. Ste. Genevieve is built on such a grand scale that it’s truly a spectacle to witness. I was naturally drawn to capturing the dramatic sights. By the end of the week, I had collected something like 700 pictures and videos. As someone who enjoys my little creative projects now and then, it seemed only natural to put it all together into a video. I’ve been given permission to share my work with all of you. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it. Honors Marketing and Communications Student at UConn | Stamps and Nutmeg Scholar | UConn School of Nursing and School of Business Marketing Employee
When Kellie Rizzo and Lisa V. told me they had a special project for me, I was immediately excited. Having the perspective of a Corporate Communications intern at NBCUniversal for this National Intern Day surprise video project was unique. Editing the clips as they were submitted from the various NBCU talent got me excited, especially Jabari Banks from one of my favorite shows "Bel-Air." It was a great learning experience, too, working across various departments (Corporate Communications, Internship Experience Team, etc.) and seeing the approval process for getting a video cleared for posting. Not only that, but it was enriching to work with a fast-approaching deadline and having a quick turnaround, providing real-world experience in the media and entertainment industry. Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving me this opportunity, NBCU, and I look forward to contributing more to the company throughout my internship and after! Some other projects I have been working on for this internship: - managing the social media for Atlas, NBCU's puppy with a purpose (@nbcu_pup on Instagram) - including his recent collaboration with NBC Olympics for their Houndfluencers campaign - coordinating the myPerks program where employees enter to win NBCU-related prizes, such as ParisPerks (30 days of giveaways, 30 days out from the Olympics) - communicating with winners, packing and shipping prizes, designing promotional materials - conducting research about various employee engagement and external communications processes with the use of data analytics and competitor analyses then presenting my findings to the team - clipping media articles to distribute to the team - and more!
Happy National Intern Day from all of us at NBCUniversal 🎉 To our incredible NBCU Interns, past and present, thank you for your boundless passion, bold ambition, and bright spirits. We celebrate you today and every day! 🚀✨💜 #NBCUHereYouCan #InternAtNBCU #NationalInternDay
