Shenzhen is gearing up to seize the opportunities presented by the burgeoning hydrogen industry, aiming to significantly bolster its scale and innovation capacity by 2025, according to a plan released by the Shenzhen Municipal Development and Reform Commission. Outlined in the plan are 17 measures grouped into four key categories: the advancement of core hydrogen technologies, fostering advanced manufacturing capabilities, showcasing application scenarios, and bolstering industry support services. By 2025, Shenzhen aims to lead the nation in key components and equipment technologies critical to hydrogen energy, including fuel cells, membrane electrodes, bipolar plates, proton exchange membranes, carbon paper, catalysts, and hydrogen production equipment. Additionally, the city plans to establish at least 15 innovation centers and actively participate in the formulation or revision of at least 20 international and domestic standards in the hydrogen energy sector. To position itself as a hub for core hydrogen technologies, the action plan underscores the importance of undertaking key research initiatives, addressing technological bottlenecks, and initiating fundamental research projects, particularly in hydrogen production, storage, and transportation. https://lnkd.in/gYwevNHc

JinkoSolar U.S. Breaks World Record for N-type TOPCon Based Perovskite Tandem Cell Conversion Efficiency JinkoSolar has announced a significant breakthrough in the development of its N-type TOPCon-based perovskite tandem solar cell by achieving a new world record conversion efficiency of 33.24%, validated by the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology. The latest efficiency surpasses the company’s previous record of 32.33% for the same type of cells and marks the 26th occasion that it has set a new world record. The achievement demonstrates the compatibility of TOPCon as a mainstream cell technology with the next-generation perovskite/silicon tandem cell technology. The Clean Hydrogen Innovation Programme (CHIP) has launched its first innovation projects aimed at addressing critical challenges in the #hydrogen supply chain. The first three projects will evaluate the current state of hydrogen #compressors in the #UK market, conduct a cost-benefit analysis of hydrogen #purification, and assess the economic and carbon implications of hydrogen #distribution and buffer #storage.   Established in 2023, CHIP is a multi-year Joint Industry Programme, led by The Carbon Trust in collaboration with Levidian, National Gas Transmission, ScottishPower, and SSE plc, focused on delivering the technological advancements needed to accelerate the development of the midstream #cleanhydrogen sector. CHIP is also supported by the UK Government’s Department for Energy Security & Net Zero.    CHIP’s overarching objective is to support the development of clean hydrogen initiatives characterised by tens of megawatts (MW) of production capacity, with a focus on connecting multiple producers and off-takers across the supply chain. To meet this objective, CHIP targets the hydrogen industry’s midstream infrastructure – the infrastructure between where hydrogen is produced and where it is needed.
