Last month, our co-Founder and CEO John Busbee attended S&P Global’s annual CERAWeek event in Houston, TX, where he had the opportunity to deliver an Innovation Agora Pod presentation highlighting Xerion’s game-changing lithium-ion battery technology platform. This technology is core to our company’s revolutionary StructurePore™ lithium-ion battery electrode architecture and DirectPlate™ molten salt electroplating manufacturing process. Taken together, this architecture and manufacturing process enable Xerion to use low-purity battery material feedstocks, to deliver a lithium-ion battery that is lower cost, with higher energy density and power, faster charge, longer life, and lower risk of thermal runaway than options on the market today. Even better, we’re able to achieve 40% lower carbon emissions than conventional battery manufacturing thanks to this technology. The ability to leverage low-purity feedstocks in our manufacturing process allows for a reduced reliance on long, convoluted and environmentally harmful supply chains for processing and refining high purity battery precursors required for conventional lithium-ion battery manufacturing.
