Top Battery Manufacturers in The Voltt 🔋 Over the past two years, About:Energy has collected data on more than 200 cells, procured many of these, and spent months, even years, testing them in our labs. Many of the same batteries are used by different companies, resulting in testing and modeling efforts being replicated. 1️⃣🏆 and 2️⃣🏆. With approximately 65% of European automotive batteries coming from Korean manufacturers, it's not surprising that Samsung and LG are at the top of the list. Having recently returned from Seoul and met with their teams, the number of these cells we spotlight will significantly increase. 3️⃣🏆 EVE Energy ranks as a close third, with many companies seeking well-performing, lower-cost alternatives, evidencing a trend we have observed. The recent announcement of a likely gigafactory investment in the UK will further reduce the barriers to using these cells in Europe. To date, our efforts have primarily focused on batteries widely used within the European and American automotive and high-performance industries. However, we are witnessing demand from various niches! What other manufacturers should we consider? Projects involving prismatic cells, next-generation chemistries, and European manufacturing are in the pipeline. China Installed 62.9% of Global Power Batteries in 9M2023 The latest data from SNE Research suggest that for the first nine months of 2023, among the world’s top 10 companies by power battery installed capacity, Chinese companies occupied 6 seats, claiming 62.9% of global market share. CATL topped the list with 178.9GWh, accounting for 36.8% of share among global battery suppliers, while BYD ranked second with 76.6GWh.@WBE

Great insights from this article: great opportunity ahead in Europe and North America to localize battery cell components. The challenge: high barrier to entry (investment but also funding are available) and Asian-based incumbent probably a step ahead.
