Autonomous Volvo truck is here..

One step closer - driverless trucks will be on the roads from 2027. Our exclusive partnership with Aurora for autonomous trucking solutions achieved its next development milestone by having completed the design and architecture of the future driverless system earlier this year. We have aligned on the detailed system architecture, key requirements, and comprehensive technical specifications of the Aurora Driver hardware and new high-performance fallback system. The achievement continues to strengthen our joint goal of bringing autonomous trucking systems to the mass market, beginning with the USA in 2027. The first commercially scalable SAE Level 4 autonomous driving system will be available to Aurora’s truck manufacturing partners across the USA and will help reduce costs to facilitate broader adoption.
