For the last 10 years, we at Complete EM have been quietly experimenting around the notion of developing everyday "situation awareness" for emergency managers.
The question we've been using to guide our work has been: How can emergency managers most efficiently stay up to date on locally-relevant worldwide incidents, local incidents, case studies, best practices, key program announcements, insights, etc.? We've been capturing content now for over 10 years.
We've learned a lot but the message I want to share today is this: if you use blog websites, feeds, email, browser notifications, SMS, etc., and these sources are important to your work, be sure to set aside time once or twice a year to check those resources. Today, I can say 75% of resources we began using in 2014 to provide SA to our subscribers are now gone without notice.
