Contributions of static stabilizers in the elbow to resist valgus stress: With the elbow extended, the contributions are about equal between UCL, joint capsule, and bones. With the elbow at 90° flexion: UCL 54% Capsule 10% Osseus articulation 33% Reference below. Cool to note the correspondence with Dr. Jobe in the introduction of paper. This paper was published in 1983. Dr. Jobe did first UCL reconstruction on Tommy John in 1974. Morrey BF, An KN. Articular and ligamentous contributions to the stability of the elbow joint. Instant result of your treatment... Unloading with surgical impella 5.5 Abiomed at the bedside - Instantaneous increase in MAP and weaning of vasopressors - Instantaneous drop in filling LV pressures - Consequent drop in pericardial pressures by unloading the heart BUT... be aware of the right ventricle as abrupt increase in CO with simultaneous decrease in septal/LV contraction and increased venous return may not be tolerated by the right ventricle; as you might notice at the and of the cvp curve were cvp starts to increase after initially drop! # UZ Brussel, tim balthazar, Ines Van Loo, Ashley Welch, Claire Van Oostende, David Vande Meirssche, Bart De Prins

💡 Global shoulder flexion above 120° needs almost full GH flexion and abduction to be executable. External rotation ROM seems less important as long as it reaches over 53% of the opposite side. 👉🏻 This is from the new paper "Defining the glenohumeral range of motion required for overhead shoulder mobility: an observational study" by Dyer et al 2024 📚 Do you struggle to stay on top of new research? 😫 You're not alone! ✅ Physio Network’s Research Reviews make it easy for you to keep up to date and provide better care for your patients. During inflation angioplasty balloons produce longitudinal stress which may cause serious dissections. Damage to the vessel wall may require unnecessary stent placements and timely vessel repair. Upon balloon inflation, XO Score engages the vessel wall at low pressures and is designed to help reduce the effects of PTA elongation and stretching by constraining the PTA balloon as it inflates. XO Score works with a broad range of PTA balloons, offering controlled, concentric dilatation at 1:1 vessel sizing. Physicians choose the balloon of their choice to accommodate treatment. #xoscore
XO Score constrains PTA balloons in place in the vessel minimizing dissection risk

Traumatic cataract with iridodialysis and lens coloboma: ▪️This is a traumatic cataract with an iridodialysis (separation of the iris from it's attachment to the ciliary body) from a blunt injury during childhood. ▪️There is an anterior cortical cataract with evidence of capsular compromise and adhesion of the displaced iris to this area. ▪️There is also a lens pseudo-coloboma (lessened convexity along the equator) inferotemporally secondary to zonular dehiscence (not shown).
