Kudos to tom (thomas) chatham ! I have no doubt he will KO Martin Rapaport. MYOB ! Lab-grown diamonds will become mainstream in the jewelelry business over time and naturals will become a niche category. The extent of the equilibrium and the speed such equilibrium will be reached depend on how much design innovation the LGD players can achieve. Sadly the LGD category is saddled with a lot of big players especially India who are sitting on the fence. They don’t want to accelerate the end of the natural diamond gravy train as they are big natural sightholders. They share the De beers dilemma who has also hedged their bets. The same is true in the retail space. Signet is hedging but this is understandable. Personally I believe that the more you know about natural diamonds the least likely you have the courage to innovate in LGD. I believe it will be an outsider who will turn the diamond business upside down. It may be Zara (inditex) who would be preferable to Shein or Temu(yikes !) Diamond is fast fashion. Inventory turn has never been a diamond jewelery strength ! We are talking about constant design and mechandising innovation. Consumers have a reason to visit a Zara store and make multiple purchases. Who does that now in the diamond business ?

Instead of criticizing, strive to change your company for the better. 25. In the developer world, you can choose your path. 26. To find your dream job: a) Know what you want. b) Apply directly, avoiding recruiters. c) Understand the difference between "A job" and "The job." 27. Great teams want great people, and companies that care about their development teams have good processes. 28. Stay at the top of your game to join a good team. 29. Don't expect companies to provide time for learning; take ownership of your career development. 30. You can't always change your environment, but you can choose who you surround yourself with. 31. Prioritize learning, and you'll never have a problem with money in our industry. 32. Expose yourself to new experiences and ideas. 33. Balance breadth and depth in your skills; being a master of none can be risky. 34.
