What exactly are BRETS, the innovative pajamas Bret Bigelow Foundation is making for metro-Detroit children who face terminal and chronic illnesses that frequently leave them hospitalized? When most children are admitted to a hospital, they're given bed gowns which can leave them feeling vulnerable and exposed. Our pajamas are designed with snaps in the seams to allow medical staff to attend to the patient while remaining fully clothed. The tops have a v-shaped neck to accommodate medical instruments as well as an opening on the chest for cancer ports or other medical wires or tubes. The bottoms have buttons on the waistline to adjust for any weight changes, and have elastic so the patient is comfortable lying down or sitting up.
