This weekend, our 16-year-old son interviewed for the first time. It was a virtual panel interview with other candidates for an internship. The below was sent ahead of the call, which I really appreciated. It got me wondering if we can use this approach to set candidates up to succeed in the corporate world? I imagine it would go a long way for those who are new to the job market, anyone whose circle doesn’t include corporate role models, and those who are neurodivergent. In the past month, I’ve had 5 interviews and 2 job offers (one internship, full-time role) What have I gained? Knowledge! Knowledge in understanding what companies are looking for, common questions asked and how to be more prepared in future interviews. I know my journey in tech sales wasn’t going to be an easy one especially as an entry level but nothing prepared me of how dynamic this industry is (and I love it 😉) Looking forward to more (and I know I always say this because there’s always more in sales), more opportunities to grow, re-learn and unlearn also.
