A consultation on plans to completely transform Market Square as part of the regeneration of #Harlow Town centre is now live. Garden Town partners Harlow Council are planning a major rebuild of Market Square alongside further development to the buildings surrounding the area. The council’s Town Centre Masterplan identified the area as the town centre’s new hub for leisure and hospitality with a vision of new bars, restaurants, nightlife and other such offerings set to complement the plans. Proposals include several new features not previously seen in the area, including an interactive water feature, useable green space, a rain garden, timber decking and a natural playground. Plus opportunities for street trading and pop-up stalls, local markets, art displays and other events. The proposals are part of the council’s regeneration programme which aims to put the heart back into Harlow town centre and make the local area a go to destination as the future Garden Town neighbourhoods come forward. Other schemes include improvements to Terminus Street, Broad Walk, the new Sustainable Transport Interchange and the Arts and Cultural Quarter in Playhouse Square.
