This week is #RoadSafetyWeek, created by Brake – the road safety charity. Every year, 30,000 people receive serious and life-changing injuries from accidents on UK roads and more than a third of UK road deaths involve someone who was driving for work. Here are some ways that employers can encourage their team members to drive safely for work: - Provide training on safe driving practices - Create a safe driving policy - Ensure team members driving for work have hands-free kits and any other tech that will help them whilst on the road - Ensure that time between meetings or appointments are well thought out to avoid rushing - Reduce unnecessary trips by using virtual meetings or car sharing - Consider a pool car to be used for work that is well maintained - Consider walk to work or cycle to work schemes Our Personal Injury Lawyers at Barker Booth & Eastwood can help drivers, passengers, cyclists and pedestrians who have been injured in a road traffic accident. https://bit.ly/45SPsJO #RoadTrafficAccidents #AccidentClaim #InjuryLawyer

This week is #RoadSafetyWeek, a national initiative from @Brake, the road safety charity. This year's aim is to raise awareness about the devastating toll of road crashes, and celebrate the work of the incredible people who support families after a road death or serious injury. Did you know that a high rate of fatal accidents take place on rural roads, despite drivers rarely exceeding these roads’ legal speed limit? While it is important to enforce, low instances of speeding amongst a fleet is not always a sure-fire indicator of safe driving. That is why we developed a database called SafeSpeed. Our software analyses a staggering 30 million data points from Quartix-tracked vehicles every day, and then matches this speed data with UK road segments. From this we can calculate the speed most road users are actually travelling on each road segment and use this as a speed safety benchmark. If you want to learn about how we can support your fleet of vehicles, no matter the size, click here to learn more and get a free quote - https://lnkd.in/eqdCmzDy #RoadSafetyWeek #Quartix #Fleetmanagement #roadsafety #fleetsafety

Given it is Road Safety Week, there is no better time to highlight the importance of safe driving - in particular, sticking to the speed limit! Further information below on how you can keep yourself and your drivers safe 👇 #RoadSafety #SpeedAwareness #RoadRisk
An interesting statistic from last year, but perhaps not one that is overly surprising 🚨💭 As it's Road Safety Week, what better time to stress the importance of sticking to the speed limit not just on motorways and dual carriageways, but on single track roads to ensure the safety of pedestrians and other road users 🚗 As per Brake, the road safety charity, every year, more than 1700 people die on UK roads and another 30,000 receive serious, life-changing injuries From a fleet management perspective, risk assessments and driver training through our partner Applied Driving could be suited to your drivers to help tackle issues to minimise and reduce risk within your fleet ✅ Get in touch to learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/dDEAGkG #RoadSafety #SpeedAwareness #RoadRisk

According to Brake, the road safety charity, every year, more than 1700 people die on UK roads. Another 30,000 receive serious, life-changing injuries. As Brake marks Road Safety Week, it’s crucial to remind ourselves why road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Each year, road incidents impact millions of lives, affecting not only those involved but also their families, friends and communities. To support our employees and residents, NCSL have implemented a ‘Mission to Zero’ campaign which focusses on Health & Safety improvements across the company, including fleet safety. Some of the top outcomes from the campaign so far includes improved reporting, tracking of driving behaviours to ensure optimum safety on the roads, rewarding positive driving behaviours, ensuring full awareness of risks and how to ensure they are mitigated. NCSL also produce an annual Toolbox Talk around Winter Driving to support with employee awareness and training, which includes key pieces of advice such as: - It is even more important during hours of darkness or reduced visibility to wear reflective or hi-vis clothing. - Gentle manoeuvres and slow speeds are key to safe driving in ice and snow. Every year, more than 1700 people die on UK roads with another 30,000 receiving serious, life-changing injuries. That's why we're backing Brake, the road safety charity's Road Safety Week. The annual campaign, this year running from 17-23 November, is an important opportunity and reminder to reflect on the significance of safe driving practices for everyone who uses our roads. And with wintry weather making such a drastic entrance this week, and 10% of all motorists saying they've had driving incidents in the ice and snow, remember to keep these RAC recommended essentials in your vehicle: - Ice scraper and de-icer - Torch - In-car phone charger - Warm clothing - Hi visibility jacket or vest - Jump leads - Empty fuel can - Food and drink - Shovel - Warning triangle - Sunglasses #RoadSafetyWeek #Drivesafe #RoadSafety

This Road Safety Week, we joined the Brake, the road safety charity Webinar to reflect on a critical issue: Road injuries and deaths being a societal challenge. 📉 Did you know? - Over 17,000 deaths and 30,000 injuries occur on UK roads every year. - A significant number of these tragic incidents happen during work-related travel, excluding commutes. Key takeaway: "Behind every number is a family in turmoil, in need of support." Post-crash care for work-related road incidents is crucial for rebuilding lives. At Daltec, we're committed to making roads safer. Whether through vehicle safety solutions or working alongside initiatives like Brake, we're here to help create a safer future for everyone. Let’s work together to prioritise safety on the roads. 🌍 #RoadSafetyWeek #BrakeCharity #TeamDaltec #RoadSafetyMatters

This is an amazing perspective on speed. This week is Brake, the road safety charity #RoadSafetyWeek. This image can help all of us and would be a great addition to #toolboxtalks for #fleetmanagers. On the outside is the traditional 'speedometer' that we're all accustomed to. On the inside is how many minutes at the speed it will take to cover 10 miles. This redesign shows that driving at 80mph rather than 70mph only saves 1 minute, even pushing to 90mph saves only 2 minutes! Notwithstanding driving at these speeds is against the law, is the added risk or extra fuel/energy use worth it once seen in this frame? An excellent reframe from Ogilvy and Rory Sutherland Optimize #fleet #insight #speeding #brake #roadsafety #optimisation #logistics #courier #delivery #homedelivery #fooddelivery #deliverysoftware #slowdownsavelives #safedriving
