"Here’s a hint: If you wouldn’t ask a non-disabled person in the same situation, don’t ask someone with a disability." Love this! And I love hearing disabled people share (and be taken seriously) as experts on their own lived experience. Full quote from the article, about the invasive questions disabled folks often get asked by near-strangers: "It usually seems pretty obvious that these sorts of questions aren’t entirely on the level. With a few exceptions, they are by their nature most often intrusive and personal, not caring, respectful, or genuinely curious. And in most cases the questions also signal a fundamental doubt about disabled people's most basic capabilities and worth. "Answer: There are ways to do almost anything with any disability, and the methods and pathways are usually not even all that amazing. And here’s a hint: If you wouldn’t ask a non-disabled person in the same situation, don’t ask someone with a disability."
