📌 New Blog Post: The Invisibility of Women's Homelessness International Women's Day is an opportunity to celebrate women, but we also must recognise the challenges that are faced by women. One of the significant challenges to ensuring the needs of women experiencing homelessness is that they can be rendered invisible by a limited understanding of homelessness. This months blog focuses on how the measurement of homelessness bolsters homeless women's invisibility. #SimonBlogs #internationalwomensday #iwd2024 #endhomelessness

*On this Women's Day, let's reflect on the women who face immense challenges:* Those women without a home, where do they find refuge? The women abused by those meant to protect them, where is their sanctuary? Women reduced to financial assets after marriage, where is their dignity restored? Women enduring daily abuse and ridicule, where do they find solace? Women unable to meet the demands of dowry, where do they seek justice? Women abandoned on the streets, where is their safety? Women expected to bear their pain silently, where do they find their voice? Women scarred by violence, where do they heal? Let's celebrate Women's Day by supporting and uplifting these women, ensuring they find their way back to a life of dignity, respect, and happiness. #HappyWomensDay #WomenEmpowerment #Equality #dignityforall

According to a UN study, only 40 per cent of women seek help after experiencing violence, making the outreach work of women’s rights organizations even more critical. Women's rights organizations empower women and girls to assert their rights and seek help when they experience violence. Through education, training, and community initiatives, women’s organizations build resilience and self-confidence among women, which can be key in breaking the cycle of violence. #wps #womanstats https://lnkd.in/d5PHKwY3
