This week we’re having discussions around the African continent and the logistics challenges facing short-term exploration campaigns. Unless you’re operating in the large Oil&Gas countries it’s likely that there’s limited local competence, limited port facilities, the supply chain reliability is high on the risk curve, HSE demands your full attention and typically it’s a plug&play resource package which comes with its own challenges. As a consequence, expatriate expertise is a nonnegotiable but comes at a significant cost, due to the remote location & limited reliability of the supply chain extra costs are incorporated in backup tools (extra cost) which also impacts the need for extra storage (offshore + vessels + onshore) and due to the short-term duration the plug&play operations demand a high-level of planning, coordination and communication. Folks imbedded in such campaigns certainly have a high-stress tolerance and could add to the examples above. The point being, from a logistics perspective the risks and costs are extraordinary high and any slippage can have a significant impact on NPT. To ensure a transparent and secure process, we outline the following requirements for bidding companies. Key Requirements: 1. Performance Security: Bidding companies must provide performance security in the form of: - Letter of credit - Performance bond issued by a bank acceptable to the commission - Parent company guarantee 2. Security Amount: The performance security must be equivalent to 2.5% of the work commitment. 3. Purpose: The performance security guarantees the fulfillment of the minimum expenditure committed to the implementation of the work program. 4. License Grant: The license will be granted upon receipt of the performance security. Asset Re-entry Operations Over the past two decades, the Kegoz Oilsystems Limited has been involved in numerous field re-entry projects. Moribund fields that had been abandoned for decades, and even touted to be unproductive, have been brought to full production and commercialization. Quite numerous producing fields in Nigeria now, were brought into production by the Kegoz Oilsystems...that, my friends, is a story for another day, however... Industry players do recognise the importance of Kegoz in the oil & gas upstream space, especially as regards re-entry projects. On this day 2nd September 2024, the Kegoz Oilsystems sets sail to the western Niger Delta estuarine for a major re-entry project, touted to spread over a 24-month period. Our major objective is to bring the fields into production, increase production by circa 30.000bpd and 10mmscf, for the benefit of our principal clients, and all stakeholders. In Kegoz, there are no limitations...it is always possible!!!

OPINIONS?? 1. For oil & gas companies ( similarly for other idustries ) it is a delicate balance between exploration (R&D) & development capital and you need to get the balance right or you accumulate too much debt ( exploration or R&D driven ) or run short of developing assets ( lack of exploration or to find new development oportunities or projects ). 2. Efficient deployment of exploration & development capital is critical and hiring competent personnel to efficiently bring on production from the development of resources ( cost control and correct technical applications ). 3. I have witnessed several examples that got it wrong and it ended in stagnation of growth and over drilling of existing assets or an overextension of capital toward high risk unsuccessful ventures which lead to an unwanted or less profitable sale of the company, or worse, insolvency. 4. There are other factors to consider as well but capital implementation is probably the most impactful.
