Silixa’s well integrity answers, delivered in real time at the wellsite, enable operators to make time-sensitive decisions faster and with much greater confidence to overcome well challenges. Our distributed sensing-based solution detects tubing to annulus communication, pinpoints leaks and identifies or confirms leaking or faulty components such as valves and plugs but also allows for the abnormal fluid path identification and tracking via the combined use of speed of sound and slow strain rate DAS analysis. Veronique Mahue’s presentation at the SPE Fiber Optic Workshop in February 2024 detailed a well integrity campaign that was conducted on two deviated oil producers showing signs of multiple tubing leaks. A joint DAS and DTS analysis and interpretation workflow allowed for rapid remote assessments and led to successful workovers.
