I fully concur, and it's crucial for traditional network engineers to enhance their skills in development, particularly in Python, CICD, API, and API security. This upskilling is essential for scaling the foundation and creating a future-proofed business and application driven network that can adapt to fundamental needs while maintaining control. What's everyone else opinions? #networking #automation #ai #Softwaredefined

Network engineering is not “going away.” Network engineering is not less important than it was yesterday, last year, or even a decade ago. But there still seems to be a gap somewhere. There are fewer folks interested than we need. We need more folks who want to work as full-time network engineers, and more folks with network engineering skills diffused within the larger IT community. More of both is the right answer if we’re going to continue building large-scale systems that work. The real lack of enthusiasm for learning network engineering is hurting all of IT, not just network engineering. How do we bridge this gap? We’re engineers. We solve problems. This seems to be a problem we might be able to solve (unlike human nature). Let’s try to solve it. https://lnkd.in/ejUvJGM3

Technology Leader Focused in Directing Multi Cloud & AI Engineering Initiatives 🌍 Global Team Leadership 🚀Solutions Delivery & Expertise 🌟
We know the importance of specialized system engineering in building the modern cloud foundation & landing zone. Full Stack believe they can build Cloud Foundation and Workload Isolation effectively and indeed they can but how effectively is still a ? mark. It's been a regular talk in the town - who owns the tower. Owners of IT Infrastructure Towers in organization are hesitant to relinquish full control to others due to several reasons. 1st - Security and compliance require specialized expertise that extends beyond typical full stack skills. 2nd - The complexity of managing infrastructure and maintaining consistent standards demands dedicated oversight. 3rd - Their own job security -- what if Software Engineer/FullStack Developer/DevOps Engineers start procuring IT infra My article related to same “talk in the town”

The IT job market is hotter than ever.🔥 According to CompTIA analysis of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the tech industry employment went up by over 17,800 jobs from December to January alone. That increase was driven primarily by technology services (like Lazorpoint - we're hiring!) and software development subsector, which added 14,500 jobs. Cloud infrastructure and tech - mainly semiconductor manufacturing (shout out to central Ohio) - followed the lead pack with 2,100 and 1,400 jobs. It'll be interesting to see if these trends continue throughout the first half of 2024.
